    I would use the old tsuka and new ito. Its impossible to use the old ito ,its not long enough. Over time ito will patinate.

    Shipping within EU are no problems. I use Fedex from Japan to Denmark. Danish postal service ships swords back to sender when they hit customs. So I only use danish post for shipping inside Denmark. Fedex is more expencive but they are fast and have a great service. I get the items before I shall pay the fees

    Golden rule number 1 : Dont polish anything. Like Hamfish said, only cleaning. Dont remove patina. Ask ,before doing.

    The backstrap on the kyugunto tells rank. Yours are company grade and missing the thread/wire on the handle. Book : Japanese civil and military swords . From gregory and fuller.

    Yes, I have seen them before and they still make them in Thailand, dont know if they still use the pattern.

    The cover makes it little wider. As you can see the tsuka is also longer. The blade is larger and longer than the other ones I have. Kaigunto is in general shorter than shingunto. The large blade is signed : Noshu Ju Fujiwara Naganori Kore wo Saku

    I looked fast in some of my books but couldnt find the smiths name , only the last one . I maybe count to many strokes? ? ? Saku( made this)
