  1. As in 偏? I edited this as I missed the whole question. Yes I was thinking 氵The only one close using 弓 is 張. John

  3. You know I just ignored the 'ichi' kanji. So considering it, it may be; 藤利彫 一 Fujitoshi Chouichi in total. As to the 彫 kanji, what else could it be? John
  4. Yes, 藤利彫 engraved by Fujitoshi. John
  5. Probably at this point Ken. I bet that will change. Have you heard about the 3-D printing of skin and liver tissue? Print me a new heart, or liver, some lungs, it's coming. John
  6. Be prepared for the many requests if this works out well. A new company; 'Tsunagi Enterprises'. There are many martial arts groups that would love plastic replicas for practice based on actual weapons. John

  8. Oh, yes it is. They are printing metals now. Super expensive and still being tweaked. Last Tech Expo had one there. Totally functioning parts production. Powdered metals on the molecular level. John
  9. It would take all the fun out of it and it is that which does not fit the normal data file that makes it a riddle sometimes. John
  10. Longer offsets the thinner wouldn't it? The ME of a longer beam making apparent weight greater at the Tsuka? Longer would assist in lance-like use from a horse though. The Taduna thing; Yabusame ride with no hands, but, to do that using a sword seems unlikely, I agree. As to Ashigaru and Tachi; few would be able to afford them at that status. What were the battlefield tactics re. swords at this time? I suspect not at all as depicted in Chanbara. John
  11. I wonder how cavalry used the Tachi in melee? Was it used as a Yari or lance, en pointe? or slashing and sweeping? I have used a sword, large and heavy afoot and it is tiring quickly. Now consider the relative body size difference. The elongated Kissaki, for Tsuki? seems probable rather then Kiriwaza. One handed? No. Two handed afoot for individual combat? It's not clear is it? John
  12. Are you referring to aging in the Wabi Sabi sense? If so aging contributes to a things beauty, however, the form must retain the original artistic integrity as well. There is a line, subjectively and objectively. John

  23. As above with scroll sawblade, but, reciprocating saw blades are longer. Make a hook and keep working at it. Your will is stronger than paper's integrity. Haaa! John
  24. Not just possibly, assuredly. John
  25. The town is, 府中 whereas the kanji 末 is also 'Fu". That is why I don't credit it. There were not too many large towns in Aki at that time which would have supported a smith. John
