    Need your opinion

So I will be the bad guy here. Alex, I'm afraid you wont get the answer you want to hear. Not because we don't want, but we can't. Please go back to Ian's post and read it carefully. I think it describes the "dilemma" quite well Cheers Uwe

    Need your opinion

Alex, High end stuff, far out of reach for the most serious armor collectors (including me ) Well, can't tell from the pics if the kabuto (only hachi) is actually Nambokucho but shape suggests this. About the do; there is only one Munesuke listed in the Meikan. Period is matching with the description. What else to say? If you like the set and you have some money left over Regards Uwe
  7. No problem Barry, the member understood The blades indeed were a bit nicer than me :D Cheers Uwe
  8. Great experience Although a bit overwhelmed by the huge amount of swords, as a "first timer" So I needed a break as I finished the first floor and took tee with Luc and Jo. Some very nice armors even were around. But like mentioned before, the dealers knew their stuff. So you had to face up with a price range from 1,4 to 8,5 million yen No bargain at all Uwe
  9. Rain rain rain..... :?
  10. Sadly right Eric Uwe
  11. Eric, agreeing with most of your points. But you have to admit, that the fetching prices of both armors are a bit "exceptionally". Don't you think Uwe
  12. Eric, I assume Jeremy used the provided pics from the seller Uwe
  13. Ouch.... ..... :D
  14. Dave, as far as I know, okashi means "to loan". Rebellion swords are a different matter! Uwe
  15. Welcome Chris Uwe
  16. Look here, http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11364 Cheers Uwe
  17. Jeremy, it's a matter of taste which armor to prefer. Furthermore, your choice should be in accordance to your collection. The asking price seems reasonable to me (if matching "true" gusoku ) I hope there is a bit room for negotiation :D...... Uwe
  18. Jeremy, in my opinion there is a good chance that both suits are matching. Of course, without warranty. If it is really so, it has positive effects on the price. Fixing an amount, however, is not so easy and depends from some factors. Uwe
  19. Agree with Ian, there's hardly anything to add based on this small pics. As I mentioned before, nice ryûbu men! Jeremy, if you can provide better pics, maybe one can say if composite or not. Also important for giving a orientation about the value Uwe

    help on armor

Hi Jer., (?) first two pics showing a tatami-gusoku (folding armor) with an interesting menpo. Maybe mid to late Edo period. Third pic depicted an etchu zunari bachi with ressei menpo. Last pic is too bad to say anything, exept, it is a suit of armor! Regards Uwe
  21. Magnus, where are you situated? There is a guy near Brilon doing quite nice work. Uwe
  22. I will be Saturday and Sunday there
  23. Hi Alex, I know I only trying to say, that there are different types of kabuto with own characteristics. In case of Gilles hoshi bachi, this kind of long and slender rivets (hoshi) indeed are seldom seen! Cheers Uwe Curious about the pics Gilles
  24. ...looks like the kuwagata dai was later added. Gilles, can you provide some more pics? Uwe
  25. Hi all, the one at Bonhams is a "Saiga Bachi" a special type of kabuto and not to compare to the hachi Gilles posted. I agree with Eric, "koboshi bachi" (iga bachi) mid to late Edo period I guess. Uwe
