  1. Im back from the dead to applaud you Colin. Look for the Tagane Ato near the Hitsu Ana. Always the same pattern. Nanako size, Suzuki is always larger than good quality ones. Cheap pained on gold guilding for Suzuki. Often the seppa dai coloration is not the same color as the Shakudo nanako. Cheers
  2. @Spartancrest would call those "New"
  3. The term "Dai Sho" sure has a lot of different interpretations
  4. Great stuff Kirill

  8. Excellent 🤣🤣🤣
  9. @Spartancrest can you edit that picture for him to be pushing a Katana Kake?
  10. Agree! Market is so terrible now, you cant give stuff away! One may ask "Why would the NBTHK designate something as "worthy of preservation" if it is only of mediocre quality" - reinforcing the ethos that one should not paper
  11. That was a crazy time 🤣 Indeed Green Kicho not worth the ink
  12. Hilarious Piers! 🤣
  13. I’ve tried to sell the above Shoami for the cost of the papers ($250) and nary a nibble. Tread cautiously grasshopper!
  14. Another example. Papered to "Shoami". Shocker!
  15. I would not paper anything that you have a good idea of the provenance of. I have learned over the last few years of my study that papers are just educated guesses on the attribution of the piece and are relatively worthless as a value added addition to an item. Many times, different appraisers provide different attributions, thusly nullifying the effort and burning your $$. An example below. I know this is Owari Kinko. If i send it to get papered, it will come back and Tokubetsu Hozon to Owari Kinko. Now the question is, why would i spend $250 to paper it?
  16. Mei on my tsuba doesn’t match but to be fair, none of those three match each other either!
  17. Happy Tuesday NMB Looking to learn more about Konkan. I do not have a record of an authentic mei from him. I understand that Sesko has a mei guide? Is it this one? https://www.lulu.com...re&page=1&pageSize=4 If anyone has a authentic Mei, I would be very appreciative Thanks!
  18. and this is why i have lost faith in getting things papered that I am unsure about LOL
  19. hope you treat it better than the owner before @bigjohnshea, @O koumori Two owners ago broke the habaki and lost the papers, shouldbe flogged
