    Next question. Does a gimei signature detract from the value of a piece? The one above went for $500 USD, which seems reasonable for the quality of the work. I have this Somin (gimei) that I enjoy quite a bit, but is it worthless because its Gimei?

    @vajo I am postulating that the area from 1200-400 on the tsuba that is the topic of this post would not provide the protection that it is intended for and rather, would be destroyed by contact. Open to education

    Well. I ended up winning the itomaki tsuba auction. Real life pics. It’s heavy. I really enjoy it, wonder if it would achieve TokuHo in this condition
