  1. hi guys, hope every ones Xmas was great. i have jus got yet another good book from Marus Sesko called "KANTEI REFERACE BOOK of hamon and boshi. i must say the amount of oshigata is great. but i must say i think the books above my skill level in identiying complicated hamon styles at this point. so just asking if any other membes have this book and have used it in kantei's yet?. an you give me points or hints to get the most out of the book, as the same smiths can be spread across the book, pages apart and under differant hamon sections kind regards Hamish

  11. i feel uneasy about commenting on this, im by no means knowledgable on yasukuni-to. iv only own 1 or 2 so far But the mei and nakago make me look twice, firstly the very crisp condition ?? and then the way the mei is cut. YASU is struck different to the ways listed in the book, is it Dai-saku???? or a students work??. also the mei goes on to read " ozu motomeni" I cant read the rest. so who was this sword forged for ? would this affect the way it was signed?? I think more educated person's should add there thoughts on this sword because personally im alittle "alarmed " is this a gimei?? why are there no good photos of the hamon or hada?? regards Hamish PS, in the words of david Flynn or "im talking out my ass"

  23. Hi all fellow members . i was contenplating a few things happening on the NMB this week. (not to mention the meaning of life) so with heaps of spare time in my life at work, I had discovered no person has ever written down the sacred 10 nihonto commandments. so with a quick pen on paper session I wrote is down, 1- thou shall not attempt polishing my sword if I am not a togi 2- thou shall not touch steel of the blade with unclothed hands 3- ye shall always present the cutting edge of the blade away from the recipient. (edit) Brian copyright 4- you shall store the blade correctly when in shirasaya 5- you shall be sparing with the oil 6- uchiko should be used under supervision 7-THOU SHALL NOT PLACE A SWORD ON THE GROUND FOR PHOTOGRAPHING 8- one must not break up a koshirae for profit 9- thou shall always try and improve our knowledge 10- ye shall always learn from our mistakes and be humble when admitting them what do you guys think??? what would you change??
