the general consensus is that they are now old opinions and may not be correct, and not very desirable, take what you will from that. but i have seen some blades be repapered due to distrust of the older papers and come back with the same result. The big concern is if its papers to a high name, then you might have to start looking hard as to what you are buying. hence why there is a huge glut of outdated papered items leaving Japan. they might now something hahahaha.

Good Morning john, may i offer some advice? the nihonto market is very tight right now, its a buyers market with heaps and heaps to pick from, so really good photos is the main selling point you need to focus on. peaple wont buy if they cant see all the main points. also please bear in mind you compeating with retail dealers so pricing must be competitive. i wish you luck with the move. are you moving counties?? regards H

Let me just say afew words with out derailing your wishes. Its not a Gen grade shingunto, its a showa period ceremonial tachi mounts of lowish quality. The hole silly idea of returning swords to Japan is in 99% of all cases/stories is a fantasy. Most people in Japan have very little interest in nihonto or having there history reopened. If it was me just keep it, its worth more to your family, then the others, if if if you ever find them. Because there are literally 10 million stories of general swords.
