something looks wrong in my eyes.. Tachi mei vs Katana mei? If it was made for a gunto it should have Tachi mei. But this has Katana mei. btw the nakago looks cleaned. The pictures are not good enough to say anything about the blade. Typical Showa22 sword. Signature looks good. --------------------------- to compare: 1943 late war 1944 -
Looks like a "high grade" showato. Not gendaito. But overall it looks like a very nice sword!! Btw the polish looks damn good and new. I like it.

Curran, Piers made some nice shots of Bizen Osafune Koshirae with a Tsuba that looks like the style of the Myoju Tsuba you post.

As for my credibility gets lost. Here the original Facebook topic. Nihonto Group. Discussion and Study of Traditionally Made Japanese Swords | Facebook

Another one. on Facebook (Mr. Bowman) He said bring brack from his Grandfather (Higher ranking Marine, was on the Missouri during the time of surrender). Blade has a leather saya. The kabutogane is the same made as the other swords we discuss but different in work. Those swords all have a bringback story. I can't belive that these swords are faked.

Can't see it Curran. Could you copy and paste the pictures here?

The Japanese soldier are the filament for the emperor. The supply is going to infinity. https://www.kurabo.co.jp/english/kurabo-history/ Maybe that was from textile machinery?

Bruce there is no hamon because it is full tempered. The temper line is only there because the material is thiner on the cutting edge and cool down faster after quenching in oil.

Vitaly thats a nice one. Jean point it out.
