  1. Wow, love both of them. I'm poor as can be at the moment, but really gorgeous blades. Especially the first one is attractive.
  2. Or if it was glued with rice glue originally, try a hot water moisty washcloth first, dap it a little bit. The rice glue should attach together again.
  3. No no no.. All advise will go against doing it yourself (and you acknowledge that you don't know what you're doing).
  4. Any chance they have a English version of that site?
  5. This post is so clueless, never took it serious to begin with:)
  6. Hi James, Thanks a bunch! I was mainly interested in any defining information on the Umetada reference, and whether or not it was attributed to the school or a tsuba maker named Umetada. Either way thanks alot! Edit: i think here its a school attribution? Axel
  7. Hi there, I was hoping someone here could give me a hand with column 2, 3 and 6 of the following origami. Its of horrible resolution, but this is what i have for now. I'll make a better photo once i have received it.. Thanks in advance!
  8. Oh.. apologies, in my feeble mind, i have a distinct separate feeling from Shinto/Shinshinto, compared to early Edo, although its all considered Edo period.. Apologies, and thank you.
  9. Hi there, I was thinking that Shinto/Shinshinto blades couldn't receive Juyo by definition, but then i came across this blade, http://www.sanmei.com/contents/media/O454_S828_PUP_E.html which is dated to 1681, Shinto. Wiki wrote: Would this blade be one of the exceptions? And would it even be possible, maybe in a hundred years, a Shinshinto piece would slip through?
  10. I got 2 more pictures to share.
  11. Brian, Ian, Grey thank you all so much for commenting. Your positive tone (*Brian:) towards this tsuba convinced me to get it. I already loved it. I just wanted to know whether i'm not delusional and/ or misguided. I can't wait to hold it (with clean hands).
  12. Yes, groundwork is shakudo. Following was listed with the piece: Shakudo ground, Polish surface, Openwork, Gold inlay, Round Mimi edge, Both Hitsu-ana punches 69.2x66.3mm 4.2mm thick
  13. Hi Grey, thanks for chipping in. I know it looks to be in a really great condition, but i guess it is possible?
  14. Hi there, I'm looking into this tsuba to maybe buy it. Its priced: ¥80,000, Its unsigned, but attributed to Umetada(?), anyone knowledgable enough to maybe say its a good guess or maybe something else? I really like the design, it looks so clear and beautiful.
  15. I can't edit the post above anymore for some reason, but this came to mind. Took half an hour to find the attachement part
  16. This is probably something that stands or falls on specificity. It they're an extraordinairy piece of workmanship (and making habaki can be), sure it could add value.
  17. I came across this mempo, and i thought it was quite interesting. http://www.e-sword.jp/armor/sale/1510_8001syousai.htm Figured i put it up here to see what you all things, personally i have zero knowledge about katchu.
  18. Those measurements seem a little off to me, but what do i know. I'm not experienced enough to give you advice, but i would say without better pictures and just the photo from your first post, seems not genuine, or abused.
  19. Maybe deal with this in PM?
  20. Holy moley! For some people it'll be a nice christmas eve.. Personally drawn to T065:)
