  5. I've updated the PDF tsuba file Please check the first page for conditions of sale Link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/z0g8p1ljngpxur9/NMB%20listing.pdf?dl=0 There are now 62 tsuba available For those that have already viewed the original tsuba there are some new additions All tsuba have the nakago ana sizes at the end of the file in size order New: T29 T83 T97 T123 T298 T316 T337 T339 T345 There is an error I've made with the PDF file by mixing up NAKAGO and NANAKO: Re: ...I can supply the nanako ana sizes..... Ooops. With thanks Grev
  6. Great Steve - just what I was after
  7. Hi I was a bit lazy by putting a couple of info requests in the Izakaya section so I split them and put them in the appropriate sections At the Birmingham Arms and Armour sale last Sunday I bought a photograph album. I thought I'd use it for some of my better tsuba. I'd like an idea of what the kanji says. Not after a full translation just the basics if possible With thanks Grev

    Flower Tsuba

Hi Vistiting a friend today he asked me if I knew what the flower/leaves were I thought about Japanese knotweed but can't find a good match It has a Mito feel but not quite (in my opinion) So I'm manly interested in naming the leaves I've shown the back as it may be of interest With thanks Grev
  10. You would have thought there would be a better may to join these two parts together by now I know you can get custom fitted boxes to enclose the tsuba Heed the warning

    Akita Shoami

Assuming it is from the Shoami school I'm also wondering if it maybe Awa or Shoanai Shoami

    Akita Shoami

So maybe not Akita Shoami. I did wonder about the school I'vbe add some vary vague description on some of my tsuba papers I've no way of knowing but it does have similarities to mine May be if we see the whole as Mauro suggests

    Akita Shoami

Hi Some of the areas around the seppa remind me of this tsuba Clouds, raindrop, snow flake, and a tie up bag of wind Iyo Shoami Yôshû no jû Shôami Hidenari 予劦住正阿弥秀任 - (H01122.0). Grev
  16. Hi After looking at a request for Yagyu tsuba I thought that anyone owning this type of tsuba would be most reluctant to give it up So I thought which of my tsuba I could never sell. Having two daughters and one granddaughter (wife any my choice included~) I'd like them to keep one each that would remind them of me Why haven't I put up a couple of images? It is such a difficult task to select the 'right' tsuba but I do know it will not be based on price I'll need a couple of days to make my selection assuming I can For some collectors it may be easier as they already have a star Grev

  22. Hi Ford I knew the Shingen was just a nice story Not heard about the "Shingen bukuro" but a much more practical idea
  23. Both very nice tsuba I wanted to buy a decent example but mine is the standard type where the wire is looped through the tsuba The story behind this type of tsuba (unproven) was that Takeda Shingen employed swift running messengers. The Mukade-tai. They were conspicuous for their mukade (centipede) hata-jirushi (war banners). When with this troop you had the privilege of wearing this style of tsuba Grev
  24. Thanks Steve
