For my records I use the definition Kanagushi (tachi) Looking at this term again it looks like these alternatives are a better description a) Tachi Kanagushi b) Tachi Kanagu Shi Is a or b the most suitable definition?

I would have liked to buy the Onin tsuba but too much for me I won this one. Nice to recent papers #218

Being such an import auction I wondered if any NMB members wished to show what tsuba they bought and if anyone regretted not going just one more bid

Just awaiting the shipping costs and asked the to use the correct tariff code which they will probably ignore

Today I received an invoice for the papered Kanayama I bought The email stated I will be contacted by a shipping subcontractor which I hope id not too expensive Just letting other know as it is all new to me

No email yet. When I log in at the bottom of the page it says how much I owe in total and their bank details but as yet no invoice I think I have 15 days to pay

I wasn't sure where to place this request I won a Kanayama tsuba at the recent Czerny's auction and unsure what to do next so any advice will be helpful Ideally it would be nice if someone could pick but it is a big ask I think they use a courier service which is independent from the auction house In a German auction the couriers cost were ridiculously high and a NMB member close to the auction house picked it up for me I would pay any costs incurred With thanks Grev

Thanks for the feedback and I've read the info on the link I'm all OK with the first example but there are errors with kanji for the second mei Also Soten saku then Soten sei seems strange The last term Soheishi is also unknown to me Soten saku Soheishi Nyudo Soten sei 藻典 作 藻柄ｿ子 入道 宗典 製 Maybe just brain fog! For us numpty collectors can get a bit worried about asking the obvious Like in a classroom when everyone looks at you when you ask a simple question when the answer is know by everbody

This is from the Birmingham Museum ref 1930M631 I see this as Mitsunobu 光延 but can't find the kanji for the right hand side

Hi Piers The image is not very clear I assume it is iron The design doesn't go over the seppa dai but there are examples of this feature The kozuka ana appears to be lined which is more unusual and some were a later addition Like a good mystery I expect to be surprised by the ending and feeling a little silly
