Why has our "Ranking" description changed?

Going from Grandmaster to Emperor is a shock - I will need to change all my letterheads - get a new crest made and get used to people bowing before me!  

The rest of the lower classes will NOT be getting a Koku increase!

Request was made to change them to be more "Japanese" and fun. I had a heck of a time trying to research who was above whom, and what to call them. Hopefully I disn't make too many mistakes. I should have consulted with Markus

Emperor seems a little ambitious for us lowly fools, perhaps Daimyo as the top rung is slightly more fitting if iterative changes are made?

There are too many ranks, and not enough classes :-)
So I added Emperor to use another one. But we still have some ranks at the bottom without names, and I don't want to call anyone Burakumin or Hinin

My opinion here, 

but I liked the old ranking system better. 

How are the ranks derived at anyway? 

The number of threads one starts? 

The number of likes one gets? 

The number of posts one has? 

Maybe ranking should be given to an individual by the number of members that view a thread 

started by that individual and find that thread of interest? 

I mean, anyone can post something and get a number of likes (or not).

But holding the interest of members on a thread over a period of time is something totally different all together,

especially on a controversial type thread (let me think, who am I referreing to?)

The ranks are a bit of fun - and largely a measure of activity (5 points for a post, IIRC).

 

Actually posting interesting content etc is difficult to measure, but those people get known by reputation (I'm thinking of members like Jussi).
