rodrig4 Posted November 28, 2020 Report Posted November 28, 2020 Hello. I cannot translate this signature. I think the second kanji means MASA, there is also saku kore, but for the rest ... a little help would be welcome. have a good day. R gérard. Quote
PietroParis Posted November 28, 2020 Report Posted November 28, 2020 The fourth looks like 之 (yuki/shi) Quote
Shugyosha Posted November 28, 2020 Report Posted November 28, 2020 You’re right with Masayoshi saku kore. Not sure about the first kanji. Something about the tang is ringing alarm bells for me - may be a Chinese copy... but here’s a thread about a Ryu Masayoshi. Might be one for the Gunto guys. Quote
PietroParis Posted November 28, 2020 Report Posted November 28, 2020 Right, 之 reads also "kore", and the third is indeed 美 . I'm still trying to learn... Quote
Shugyosha Posted November 28, 2020 Report Posted November 28, 2020 The first kanji reads Tatsu or Ryu it’s the complicated form of the kanji for “dragon”. Sorry can’t copy it across as I can’t work my phone.😳 me too Pietro - keep chipping away at it, it does get easier - sometimes. 🤣 1 Quote
PietroParis Posted November 28, 2020 Report Posted November 28, 2020 I suppose you are referring to this one: https://jisho.org/search/龍 %23kanji Quote
Shugyosha Posted November 28, 2020 Report Posted November 28, 2020 Yes, that’s it. I should have copied the link. Quote

Looks gimei to me. Btw the mei is on the wrong side Quote
DoTanuki yokai Posted November 28, 2020 Report Posted November 28, 2020 Typical komonjo gimei 2 Quote
16k Posted November 28, 2020 Report Posted November 28, 2020 That’s what what I saw immediately: the background screams Komonjo... the mei too! 1 Quote
