    It's your choice. I had the tsuka-maki on my iaito and shinken done tachi style as that is more comfortable for me.

    The tachi style or what I have seen called gyaku-menuki is the utilitarian position (which is what I prefer). I believe that late Muromachi this stared to change. As far as gunto the early and mid war versions have them placed in the tachi position but late war they reversed them for some reason. Just my .02...

    Does anyone else think the horizontal strokes in the "I" kanji are actually two strokes each instead of one?

    I second that! Taking an average nihonto and performing a kata, sure why not if your qualified. But never tameshigiri! Just my opinion!

    Thanks to Andy from nihonto.us I have been corrected. Higo no Kami hata mitstuyo.... I thought the last kanji was saku Any opinions on the mei? It's looks pretty good.. Thanks!

    Let me know if you need a second I also thought they tucked the kimono around their knees as to stay upright as well?

    Hello, I picked up a sword off ebay. The mei is Higo no kami yasumitsu, does anyone have any info on this smith? Maybe an obscure Shinto-shinshinto Naminohira smith? Any and all input appreciated! Thank you! ***

    A friend just sent me a sword using Parcelforce, It's on its way to me now. I can ask if he had any issues or hoops to jump thru. Good luck!

    They will make about 5,000usd on the sales and they state that they cant ship EMS and SAL takes at least 30 days so they can get the money after 21 days per PayPal rules.. Sad!

    Thank god I prefaced that with I don't know anything about tsuba... It came on a beater tanto. You could of made up a school for me xx sukashi would of helped THANK YOU!!!!
