  1. I like the tsuba!
  2. Pretty much sums it up
  3. I've been following him for a while now and from what I've seen, his listings are real but I've noticed a few things. For starters, it looks like he does some kind of home polishing to bring out the hamon and make every Nihonto look bright as heck. Some people like that look, personally I don't. Second, he might piece koshirae together from random parts. Once again, some look better than others. Some of his sales are good, some aren't. Buyer beware. But no, I don't think he's out to scam anyone. I did bid on one of his auctions a couple years ago. It was a really interesting O suriage wakizashi with a really detailed horimono that flowed down into the "new" Nakago/Tsuka area. It was really old as the horimono on the "new" Nakago had allot of patina/non active rust. Other than the bright arsed hamon, it was a really nice wakizashi that sold for a couple thousand.

    Sickening

WTF? I have had many great buyers on eBay but then there are those few who want more and more and more and no matter what you do, its never enough... But seriously tho, what is up with those "projects"? I pray that they are fakes and not authentic Nihonto
  5. What's a "nohonto"? But thanks for clarifying what this thread is "just" about.
  6. Thanks for the heads up! I love the ashi on that one!
  7. Thanks guys!
  8. Anyone ever have any success buying Nihonto from them and having them ship over seas? I just got a notice that Im not allowed to bid on swords, etc... saying that its illegal to ship and even if I was in Japan, they couldn't ship it but yet the sale is shipping only with destinations all over the world including Japan...lol What do you all think?
  9. Very awesome Ray, I never knew these type of Yoroi-doshi existed. They seem purpose built for quick death
  10. That's what I was thinking too. Reminds me of that knife smith who makes modern tantos then shows the durability by punching them through car doors and steel drums
  11. Exactly. Like a Fallout 4 apocalypse rudimentary sharpened railroad spike lol
  12. This is what outlaw bikers call a "sharp finger". Not pretty but very effective! I've seen quite a few Yoroi-doshi but this one scares me for some reason. With only a 7" nagasa, it looks like it could really ruin a persons day...
  13. The forging is actually really good on that one. Looking up close is hardly a flaw! I love the menuki on the Tsuka as well. The owner of "Daido Shipping" must have had some serious connections or a very interesting family tree!
  14. Holy crap that's amazing! What's the back story? Age?
  15. Kotetsu
  16. Very nice!
  17. I like it allot!
  18. Is the silver Yokoya Oni Fuchi Kashira available?
  19. ALL MENUKI GONE!
  20. Is that your blade? I would like the back story. It looks Koto? Nanbokucho or Kamakura? Looks awesome
  21. That was very intense
  22. Haha, good eye! It's totally him! Just needs to eat a turn buckle and it's complete!
  23. Thank you! I was waiting for someone to finally get it!
  24. Looks like it has potential. More pics would be good. Have you noticed any Mei(signature) on the lower part inside the wood?
  25. Bottom Menuki gone! Only Dragon and Shi Shi remain!
