  1. Thanks for your comments Justin. Something to think about Barry: David only lives a few miles from me and I did contact him. Hes not taking on any more work and he specialises on high grade items
  2. Could anyone change over the tare guard. Ideally in the UK 'A needs repairing and fitted to 'B' Grev
  3. Thank you both - It was a struggle for me
  4. Hi The image shows my feeble attempt! Left is a tsuba and the right is a kozuka. I know the kozuka mei will probably have no relevance to the maker but it was put there for some reason

  7. Hi Jussi Re: https://www.aoijapan.net/katana-mumei-kanefusa-2/ Very rare late Muromachi sword. It is a remarkable sword at a good price. Well I assume it was a good price in 2013 I wonder what it's worth from a good auction house?
  8. Someone last week showed an auction with one for sale
  9. Some additional images. I've already told them that the orientation of some tsuba are wrong and need changing
  10. I think we just wanted to know that the book would be completed and Ford has assured us that it will I appreciate the candour of your reply and hope all works out for you both

The exhibition will show their decorative development from the warring period to more peaceful times. Designs range from the portrayal of war and myths to depictions of animals and plants. 21. I've really enjoyed this post and look forward to the next section Thanks for sharing
  22. I showed Ford one of my tsuba which I thought was quite good For example I said how well the bird was carved but he said that if someone is carving birds almost every day for a number of years a low grade worker would get very good at carving birds A bit rambley but what I'm trying to say is making identical images for a maker may not be that difficult
  23. Is that a seam/line I can see in the holes through the middle of the tsuba?
  24. I wonder if the kao has some of the character of the kanji mei - just a thought
  25. Just madness - I hope it all works out well for you
