  1. from the Gendai Toko Meikan Kanesaki Hidetoshi - Hidetoshi/Tenryushi p. 132 Hawley Hid200 Tokyo 1967 10 tk522 heres a scan from the former book, i do not have the pink in hand its in the mail, i was told Tenryushi, i dont beleave Tim's or mine is Gendaito, you can if you like. From what i heard they were swanped at the shinsa and over booked, if they came across a good blade that they did not know who it was the lessered it down to give it a passing grade, i sent mine kowing it would not pass but wanted to pinpoint it down to den and era, to me its a slap in the face to tell me my blade is missing a zero on its age, but hey im just some gaigen who dont know better so i should take it and be happy.....sorry.
  2. i said Stever but i ment yours... your blade looks like its shinto or shinshinto being lacks much sori. I really dont want to say much more until Mo contacts me, a first i thought there was a paper mix up like what happend at the NYC Shinsa...but two older blades both getting Hidetoshi gendaito

  4. Tenryushi Hidetoshi right.....they gave me same smith for this blade. no its not gendai to anymore that the one Tim is showing. Something is very fishy about the whole mess. btw i turned the passing paper down and took a pink.

Try changing your background color, here are two one in grayscale with a black background the other in color with blue, a dark gold will give even different showing of activities in the blade. I also have a hard time getting a blade pinpointed down, as many as you ask expect that many different answers.
  8. you will not be forgotten as well as your fine sense of humor. Thank you for life lessions. Domoarigatogozamasta!

  13. Some put value on a major collection such as Compton, but some mistakes were made by the auction house, opinions now will change over the years and facts then will not be later. With all art provenance is everything...so if the Nihonto was owned by a Lord or higher expect to pay more on you dollar.
  14. if it is a crack that small id would come out in polish. looks more of a chip to me.
  15. how far on the right, i dont see it
  16. not a problem...all of Eric M's swords are real, some showato but still Japanese swords from or before the WW11, no crappers there, and hes getting much better at letting everyone know if it has a stamp, problems, ect. lots to read here have fun. Never hold back if you have a question alot of good folk here to help.
  17. Its Eric M out of NYC he does all the large collector shows and spends alot of time looking, hell tell you straight up what he has. here is the link to the auction. Red is that your first name? please sign off with your real first name if not, per the rules. welcome aboard
  18. to have the sword Gods on your side....very nice.
  19. I seen that on Big Mo's site, IMHO its just ok but a bit pricy, four a few dollars more you can do as well as this first time buyer. http://militaria.co.za/nihontomessagebo ... f2aa5fce81 there is a wide range of Amahide this looks to be a better one, thats a pro a con is it needs some work to the tsuka and maybe a touch up polish...id shop some more if it was me, but then again its you, follow your heart and learn learn learn...it will led you to your sword. see this link for a sale of Amahide and what it went for about a grand less. http://militaria.co.za/nihontomessagebo ... php?t=1236
  20. now that the auction is over I was wondering what other board members take is on this polish, it sure looks like it had a acid wash to make the hada stand out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0107811873
