Now the auction just ended, and the tanto was sold for 180,000 JPY. The problem of the blade is much worse than gimei. Its registration paper is a forgery. That means that the blade is not registered and the blade itself is illegal. I guess that the blade was illegally made in Japan or illegally imported to Japan. The mei on its omote-side is 伯州住延秀 – Hakushu ju Nobuhide. I can read the erased signature under the date on its ura-side. The old signature is also 伯州住延秀 (Hakushu ju Nobuhide). Again I guess that the faker originally intended to make an illegal blade with the mei of 伯州住延秀 (Hakushu ju Nobuhide), but he made a mistake and chiseled the mei on its ura-side at first, and then redone the nakago.

That may be 吉日 - Auspicious day.

秋山飛瀑 – Autumn mountains and waterfall This term is not a proper noun for a specific waterfall, but a general name of a painting motif. 庚午秋畫 – Painted in the autumn of the year of Kanoe-Uma (1990, 1930, 1870, 1810, or older?) 於静修齋林肇基 This might express the place and name of the painter. I am not sure.

Maybe 房宗 - Fusamune.

If it is not 忠 (Tada), it could be 徳 (Toku).

The second kanji is a mystery. I guess that the mei could be 兼裳 (a variation of 常) – Kanetsune.

The mei is 関住兼貞作 (Seki ju Kanesada made.). This Kanesada is also a good smith. However, the smith is not 之定 (Nosada) or even popular 兼定 (Kanesada).

Both 来助 and 求助 are old-fashioned names, but I think that both could be possible.

The name looks 求助 (Kyusuke) to me.
