  3. Hi, Yes this blade is Hankei. *Musashi no kuni Shigeyoshi.(known as Hankei) *The 22nd ,Registered as juyo-token. A niji mei blade that belonged to the Mito Tokugawa. Showa 51 nen shogatsu (January,1976),signature of Kanzan (Sato) wrote.

  6. Hi, Attached pic is Takano Masakane sword oshigata in 1941. The mei says "Jo-shu ju Minamoto no masakane tsukuru kore " Jo-shu means Ibaraki prefecture. I have more two oshigatas of him.

  11. It is a very regrettable. These swords are the remainder of the sword that was called Akabane-to(Akabane swords). These swords have rusted almost. It is difficult to look for original owner.

  14. yimu, The carving (Ikoma Sanuki no Kami shoji)of your sword is very similar to gold inlaying on national treasure sword Ikoma Mitsutada. However, this gold inlay was inlaid by Honami. So,i believe that the carving (Ikoma Sanuki no Kami shoji) is a copy.

  20. Hi, Maybe, this swordsmith might have wanted to carve it descendant("shison")(Descendant of Shigetaka at the sixth generation). However, this swordsmith is carving a wrong Kanji character.

  22. Hi, The Kanji characters are Chinese. I guess that it is a sword that a Chinese/Korean presented to a Chinese/Korean.
