  1. Late war tassel on the top. This tassel fits 100 % correct I once had a type 3 with sarute mounted ,it was a plain brass ring and was original to the sword. Br Thomas

  4. Japanese kanji reading isnt always easy That leads me to the painted numbers , the first says " medium" second "7" last one is a circle ??

  6. I collect Japanese navy swords and daggers and show and ask about them if I want too , the same can You. But in here there is more nihonto collectors than us showato collectors , there is always wma forum with Japanese navy and army ww2 .
  7. Mantetsu blades are much rare than those with showa or seki stamp.

  9. The thin washers need to be near habaki and near fuchi.the thick ones next and the ones with the "funny" shapes against tsuba.

  11. No mei only large toyokawa naval arsenal stamp ,numbers and the gourd.
  12. Any idear what this gourd stamp means , its from a kaigunto.

  14. Looks original , but with very poor kanji like the other said. How many washers are ther on each side of the guard? Dont like the screw on this type.
  15. Funny , the sageo is the strap for the company grade officer tassel.
  16. Back to the showa-to......it looks to me like a postwar put together....with lots of issues. Whats the price? To me cant cost more than 250-350 usd

  19. The one on ebay was a put together Imo. I had once a type 3 with a Mitsuoki gendaito with killer hamon dated 1942. It had a plain sarute mounted , 100% sure it had been there from the start. 1 extra seppa with rim ,closeing over the kuchigane. Brown lacquered tsuka with real same and 2 iron screws ( mekugi). Wood scabbard with lacquered skin ,water proof. Never seen on with mon.
