Ed Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Akao School. Shodai Yoshitsugu, founder of the Akao Ke, was said to be a student of Umetada Myoju. Lived in Echizen, moved to Edo and worked for the Bakufu. They became Tsubako from the Nidai forward. Post shodai pieces signed Edo ju Yoshitsugu, with motifs of kasumi ni kari, tsuru, yoshi and kari were seen on swords stored away by the old lords. It is thought that this was related to their relationship with the Bakufu. Shakudo ji sukashi are the most common. Quote
