This is something that surprised me. I was not aware that Eijo made incense burners. The price is not exorbitant, especially when you consider there is a Myochin Munekatsu snake expecting 60 000 euro or more. John

Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs but you did see the part in the description where it said that this was a Meiji homage piece to Eijo and not by the man himself?

Hence the price. It says likely, and that makes sense for metalcrafters in the Meiji period had lost most business in tosougu. John

The workmanship looks very late Meiji to early Taisho.
