Mei Translation

need some help translating this mei, thank you

That is the date, Foo Dog. No Mei on the other side?

1899 (or 1959)

 

and then..... 1933 (1873) month(?) which doesn't make sense to me. Those lower kanji are used for years, not for the month.

癸酉月 (Mizunoto-Tori no tsuki) means August of the year of 甲 (Kinoe) or 己 (Tsuchinoto).

Maybe if you showed us a pic of the mei we could determine the smith and his date of working, then  we could help more with the date

According to that Chinese chart, it is September ~ October, no?

The date on the tang follows old lunar calendar.
