Bruce Pennington Posted February 18, 2021 Report Posted February 18, 2021 Can anyone tell me what this shop mei says? It's on a very-custom kyu-gunto posted ON THIS THREAD. Quote
Shugyosha Posted February 18, 2021 Report Posted February 18, 2021 Hi Bruce, can you spin the picture round, I think it’s upside down. Quote

Bruce Pennington Posted February 19, 2021 Author Report Posted February 19, 2021 Thank you Gentlemen! I have learned something new as well. So, the sword is posted by Ray (Raay) on the Kyu Corner Thread, and appears to have been made for either the Chinese of the 雲南護國軍 YunNan Nation Protection Army or of the later Republic of China (info provided by Jonathan and Trystan), based upon the lion on the backstrap and a crest Quote
raaay Posted February 19, 2021 Report Posted February 19, 2021 Hi Nobody , many thanks for the link , a very interesting read about the Suya Company . Bruce, the info on the other swords with the lions apart from the star shaped Mon , looks nothing like mine, i am still convinced it is in the Japanese style , but we might never know , but thanks to all for there input. as previously said i have seen this sword before on eBay , copied the info , just now need to find it !
