Hi,

Begins like this:

Tang is ubu (uncut) and mumei (unsigned)

Blade is 14.8" (37.6cm) long, in recent fine polish, and in superb overall condition.

And some sentences further:

Overall, this is just a magnificent piece. In old, but excellent polish. Beautiful, very well made, and a connection to a great master of long ago.

Someone else had sent me that link previously asking my thoughts. First I want to make it clear that I do not know this person nor am I trying to indicate anything specifically wrong with this yari.

Like Joe Friday, I will stick to the facts only. The photos are not sufficient to portray it's condition without question. It seems to be in pretty good polish, but with no close ups who knows. The listing states it is ubu, yet there are no photos of the nakago aside from the one on the papers (and it does not show the entire nakago). The seller himself has been a member of e-bay since 2000 but he only has 14 feedbacks and his last feedback was in 2001. All were from sellers, no buyers.

I have never bought a sword on e-bay, but even if I was to consider it, I think paranoia or the facts would prevent this from being the one.

Hi guys,

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SELLER! Why? Because I already OWN this yari! And I am not selling it, on e-bay or anywhere else! This is a fine-quality yari, in fact, but the problem here isn't with the yari itself, it's that the seller here doesn't own it or have it to sell! He must have "borrowed" the images from when this piece was originally offered, then waited a good amount of time to set up this auction... Thanks to RKG for making me aware of this. I hope I've posted this in time...

Cheers,

Steve

Hi all,

Since the auction is over now, I have deleted the subsequent replies.

For those who may have had a concern, I just want to note that I do have 4 megs of pics from Steve showing his yari and that it is the same one.

Just think this is a good policy to follow here. For anyone posting fraud on an item that they or a friend currently owns, please attach or email a pic showing the item with some identifiable object to show it is not owned by the seller. An example would be the item or papers with something like a coin on it (to show it is a custom taken pic) that the seller wouldn't have access to.

Just wanted to reassure anyone who was following this.

Regards,

Brian
