Brian Posted June 9, 2019 Report Posted June 9, 2019 Brilliant.Anyone have an idea who might have made this sword?https://blog.yuhindo.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/114-768x576.jpg 1 Quote
Darcy Posted June 11, 2019 Report Posted June 11, 2019 Brian, that sword is a shinshinto sword but it was selected for conspicuous hada and then a non-traditional polish was used on it. The purpose of the polish was to clearly distinguish the folds and forging pattern rather than to display it as an art object. That's why it looks so loud. It's part of a sequence illustrating jihada and how it is composed. 3 Quote
Brian Posted June 11, 2019 Report Posted June 11, 2019 Thanks Darcy, that clarifies it.Loving the innovation and modern thinking here. It is something that has been lacking in some aspects over the years. Quote
Greg F Posted June 17, 2019 Report Posted June 17, 2019 I was curious about that blade too. I havnt heard of this before, it would be nice to have the other side done in art polish imo to compare. Very interesting. Is type of polish used much in Japan for th ed same reason? Greg 1 Quote
