Jean Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 As expected, the Result of Kantei Quizz N°5 was Omi Daijo Fujiwara Tadahiro. Here is the next one : http://www.aoi-art.com/kantei/kantei06.html It is a Shinshinto mastersmith, I don't know much about this period, even less than on other period  . As I am at work (( Carlo), I cannot check and make some research. I would have gone for Chounsai Tsunatoshi but for the yasurime, so I shall go for - No Ted, it is not a trap : Ishido Unju Korekazu Quote
takakage Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 yes, koyama school or a pupil, due to nakago jiri and kiri yasuri mei (often kesho on his swords) seems munetsugu it is strange that this fine sword is mumei.............. Quote
sabiji Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 My first idea was also Tsunatoshi ! But there is no Yakidashi, and the Yasurime and this Nakagojiri - yes i´m very sure this is Koyama Munetsugu. Quote
Jean Posted August 1, 2008 Author Report Posted August 1, 2008 The gunome, yasurime, nakago jiri can fit the Munetsugu, but what of the muji hada? Quote
Jean Posted August 1, 2008 Author Report Posted August 1, 2008 It could well be Koyama Munetsugu, I have seen an old kantei on Miunetsugu where Aoi Art stated that : Munetsugu's jitetsu are divided into Muji-fu and patterned. Quote
Stephen Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 Just a outstanding blade, love the tight hada,,,one thing is it just my old eyes seeing things or has a mei been removed????? long on one side short on the other??? Quote
Jean Posted August 1, 2008 Author Report Posted August 1, 2008 As usual, Stephen Hawk Eye, you are right : bowdown: Either erased or masked. Quote
k morita Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 Hi For the reference, i'm owning an original Oshigata of his another sword . This sword was made in 1870(Meiji 3rd year), file work is Kiri as well. Koyama Munetsugu was 68 years old at that year(1870). Quote
Guest reinhard Posted August 2, 2008 Report Posted August 2, 2008 Some of you might be slightly irritated by now: Koyama MUNETSUGU changed yasurime from kessho/sujigai to kiri during Manen first year (1860). But you better not focus on nakago, for in real Kantei you can't see it anyway. reinhard Quote
Jean Posted August 7, 2008 Author Report Posted August 7, 2008 Here is the answer : http://www.aoi-art.com/sword/sale/08305.html Quote
Stephen Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 good to see all the Atari hits...amazed at the photo touch up they're doing now....no more cloudy boxes, looks like it had file markes done to it. Quote
Brian Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 Yeah, I saw that :D Masked the mei very well indeed. Photoshop rocks So now we better start a new thread for Kantei 7.. Brian Quote
Jean Posted August 8, 2008 Author Report Posted August 8, 2008 Who can explain clearly what Tsuruta san means by : Koyama Munetsugu’s Hamon appear similar to Cho-unsai Tsunatoshi’s Hamon. But upper part of Cho-unsai Tsunatoshi’s hamon is divided. Quote
