Michael 101 Posted April 16, 2019 Report Posted April 16, 2019 Dear Members, Please see attached Ebay link to my latest sale item. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254192803857 This is a truly superb example of the classic wave design in a very attractive flat round shape with dote mimi - what makes this example particularly desirable its its original unrestored colour and condition for which it has Tokubetsu Hozon papers and comes complete with a luxury custom fitted box. I am open to sensible offers or can sell direct to those who know me. Kindest regards Michael
Curran Posted April 16, 2019 Report Posted April 16, 2019 Whoa- I am fairly sure I held this one in Japan a long time ago and it had nice weight and patina. I didn't know you owned it. Hospital hit me a doozy of a bill yesterday, but I will PM you about this later. --- I'm half hoping someone gets to it first. I haven't seen any like this on the Japan market for quite a while.
TETSUGENDO Posted April 16, 2019 Report Posted April 16, 2019 I thought a price had to be listed? -S-
Willowyck Posted April 16, 2019 Report Posted April 16, 2019 What a beautiful Nashigaki Kanshiro tsuba with a wonderful patina. Absolutely stunning!
Ken-Hawaii Posted April 17, 2019 Report Posted April 17, 2019 I thought a price had to be listed? Not if there's a link to eBay.
Michael 101 Posted April 17, 2019 Author Report Posted April 17, 2019 Thanks guys - yes this one has been a difficult decision to part with as it has everything going for it. There are few soft metal wave tsuba around but ones like this that have never been restored are exceptionally rarely seen. The carving still contains quite a lot of age related grime but the risk to the patina is too great to clean and actually adds to its charm. See link in first post to ebay listing. Kindest regards Michael
Pete Klein Posted April 20, 2019 Report Posted April 20, 2019 Michael - how does one differentiate between this and Hikozo? They both utilize the tagane on the seppa dai.
