Type 95 Nco Tsuba Question?

Has anyone seen an oval brass Tsuba like this?

Its the middle tsuba piece to the three-piece imperial navy sword tsuba I think..

Chris, the kaigunto don't use latches, and therefore wouldn't have the holes for it. Shamsy or Stegel have seen it all and could tell you for sure.

I probably have 5 Kai-GUNTO with latches.

 And none of those latches are on the mune. That sort of latch position is pretty diagnostic of coming from an NCO sword.

Yep, it does look distinctly 95 style, doesn't it... I don't recall seeing any brass tsuba like this. It niggles at something so I'm not 100% certain though. My memory is brilliant. I had a look at my swords and they were all (or at least appeared to be) iron, so if another material was used, it would have to be unusual.

 

I feel like I'm missing something obvious. I'll have a think and get back to this if I can put my finger on it.

OK, learned something new today! Ha! However Dave’s point was the main point - only 95’s use top-latches (mune edge).
