  1. Today I saw on facebook that Eric Roush is still active. Several friends of mine were defrouded by this character. What concerns and disturbs me however is that many people of note from the sword world befriended this hack. Here is the link to his facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/eric.roush.14 DO NOT DEAL with this man. You will lose money. KM
  2. My collection will be found in my Tomb. I am just not decided yet if it will be a Pyramid the size of those of the Gizeh plateau or a Kofun mound of 150 meters high,
  3. I have a question. Are you sure these resin parts are not from a propmaker shop from the movie industry ? The quality and finish looks too well made for home built stuff meant to defraud people of money. Notwithstanding that the seller who mixed original and fake parts together is a fraud, it somehow does not look like a forging ring. These items look remarkably similar to movie props.
  4. You lucky you. The Nakago-jiri looks shinto. The sword itself also. I would have it polished for sure. I like it very much and the tsuba is gorgeous. KM
  5. Very very sad to hear this. May the Kami guard him on the other side. He will be much missed. Henk-Jan
  6. AWESOME WORK FORD !!!!!!!!! Gorgeous ! Happy it turned out so well !! KM
  7. Bryan ! Congrats on acquiring this BEAUTY ! KM
  8. I think so, yes. KM
  9. Thank you for the info John, I personally think that the deep sori sword might be the most interesting agewise. Would be good to take extra pictures and post it separately in the F/S section. Still out of my budget though, but that means someone else could be made happy with it If I were you though I would split the entire collection in parts. Tsuka, tsuba, saya, swords. KM
  10. @ Eric : Only tachi are generally put on a Kake cutting edge down. I do not know where you get the "forner Daimyo posession" story from. If you have written contemporary evidence please post it. KM
  11. What would be your asking price for the ō-suriage blade with the deep zori ? The blade with the biggest curve. KM
  12. Their tsuba are extremely fair priced. KM
  13. It is a great design of an ironplate with holes. KM
  14. Splendid images Jean ! Just splendid ! Thank you for my new desktop background ! KM
  15. I love it ! KM
  16. I also have a warp in my sword which I would not touch myself. Experienced polishers have the wooden tools to straighten a bend but there indeed always are risks. KM
  17. Eric, I am seriously wondering what your angle is, constantly posting hiragana/katakana meanings. It is quite simple. There were swords. They were stolen. The police office was Meijiro (see link posted above). The man who took them is unknown and his name (Coldy Bimore as some want us to believe) is a strange name since it is not nor will it ever be, a normal AMERICAN/ENGLISH name. Therefore people on here are thinking it might be a different name. There are a few ways to delve into archives. Main questions : Who was the American soldier (if he was at all a soldier) taking the swords with him. Who were the Police officers who took the swords in and who were the police officers who handed them over. Are there archives in Japan (police, Military) which can shed more light on this. Are there archives in America (Military) which can shed light on this. That is about it. I do not understand why you constantly come up with "proof" for irrelevant things for the discussion. KM

  19. Great stuff Piers !! Very interesting that they kept the place where his head was cut off even though the river moved it's stream. Great to see there still are people offering to him in the shrine. Apparently this is the location of Kōzuki-Jō : http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... Castle.JPG Here are some more images of the larger shokudai : And its contemporary repair : KM

    Nakago

The "molten" area is typical for a long time of rust pitting in water. Indeed salt water or a salty atmosphere might be correct.
  21. Sad news indeed. My condoleances. KM
  22. It looks like a price was carved in. What sign is the last digit ? Looks like the Yen sign. Ouch !. But could be polished away. Nice Tanto !!
  23. Erich. The debate was between Corey and COLDY. Not Coley. KM PS........ !!! Anyone thought of the Bimore part of the name ? Could the soldier not in fact have asked the police officers : "Where can I Buy More ?" Could I Buy More ? Coldy Bimore ? I know... quite far fetched but still.
