  1. First one have gunto tsuba. Looks like gunzoku sword koshirae made late war. No seppa with leather part to lock sword.

  7. Crazy having database that big
  8. In this thread below you have examples of cover with kurigata
  9. For your metal saya cover should look like this. No extra hanger on cover. Yours probably was made for traditional blade. Thats why as you see on photos you have extra unused features.
  10. Here we have leather saya cover for saya with kurigata. Leather saya have own hanger.
  11. Please check irish law. UK have it more hard I suppose. Find definition of blade [white] weapon and antique in irish law. EU is "collective farm" but individal countries have some own legislation. Antique in ue law is still 100+ years old. https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2019/880/oj/eng "Spirit of the law" should be similar in entire EU but after recent many attacks with knives law can get harsher in your region Look for: -older then 100 years old blade - with proper certificate [NBTHK/NTHK] "government agency" Why? Less vat/customs duty in case of antiques Easier to convince official that "yeah its a weapon but to admire not to hurt anyone" As your first blade dont look for savings in terms of "proper" pappers so try to avoid old nbthk issued before 1982 And maybe do some topic here on forum even just with photos of what you found. [Many forgeries] NBTHK https://new.uniquejapan.com/nbthk-nihon-bijutsu-token-hozon-kyokai-certification-paper-ranking/ NTHK https://new.uniquejapan.com/nthk-npo-nihon-token-hozon-kai-certification-paper-ranking-for-Japanese-swords/
  12. You can find funny things thinking about something. Fresh Tokuho mumei Echizen Rai. Ofcourse dunno how it looked before shortening [current nagasa is 71 cm]
  13. Often those sellers have their own sites too.
  14. You have other sites. Treat offers as ads. Simply check on other things provided by same seller. If pictures are made in many diffefent ways its probably reseller and your item is somewhere there.
  15. Try category https://www.jauce.com/category/2084259484?select=05&page=1&n=100
  16. Thats my point. Try to search "nihonto" on both sites. Uncomparable results.
  17. Buyee wont mediate with sword purchases? Also you have in jauce their combined shipping.
  18. Thank you! Great info. So even in old days some samurai would have this as possible back up.
  19. Why such slot was made? It was for fitting longer blades into gunto koshirae? [Kabutogane/sarute] Any typical koshirae? Late war type 3 with blades made with whatever can cut? It indicates that blade is prewar? [Why waste material to forge longer nakago just to punch through it?]
  20. 100% was welded.
  21. I found blade with similar hamon by same smith https://kako.nipponto.co.jp/swords/KT122460.htm
