  1. Used UPS a few weeks ago Bought a $2600.00 valued sword. Was bullied into using UPS by the auction house 3rd party shipping with them guaranteeing me a long delay and maybe problems with USPS for my item. Paid $660 to ship it with duty and brokerage fees from Florida to BC Canada Like WTF man ??? It's a racket like the mob now because shipping is a circus at the moment unless local.
  2. Yaaayyyyyyy Thanks so much I really appreciate your help K.Morita
  3. Hello 👋 this just came in and I can see there’s some quality to this detail. Even the small figures look to almost have infinite detail under a lens. The photo doesn’t do them justice Any ideas on the school or maker if someone can please help thanks 🙏 😊
  4. I Didn't realize just how vast ,different and how many WW2 blades there are. It's almost overwhelming just thinking about it.
  5. ooohhh so swords with numbers at the bottom of the tang are legit. Thanks for all the hard work you're putting into this research and sharing Bruce. It's very much appreciated.
  6. mistake brain fart ...correction ....HIGO ..not Hizen school. My first koshirae set I bought was Higo water dragons with menuki mice with such fine detail and placing they looked like real miniature gold mice peeking around the tuska wrap. I wish I never sold it. I never seen menuki mice of that quality and realism again ever.
  7. looks pretty sweet man. Nice little blade there with a beautiful flow to the hamon and hadori. I love the shape and the way the hamon gets fuller towards the curve of the blade. Just absolutely stunning.
  8. Happy big 92 years old

May you have a great B-day and many more to come.

  9. Yes ...there were quite a few nice pieces they had. Pretty pricey too. Hope you don't mind but I'm going to wait till I have it in my hands before I kiss and tell.
  10. good thing I passed on this one too....got one of the others that were up though this evening from Sofie
  11. The hair or mane style and direction of the dragon is a very old style technique usually seen in the first dragons guilded by the Hizen school when they were more simple in design with a few clouds or water.
  12. Sorry ...I just edited my reply above ..I forgot about the other habaki you were referring to.
  13. The discolouration even makes it look more like depth of the part of the forest that is in a notch and remains out of the sun. Yes ...the dragon looks great. I believe a dragon has a spirit and can be classified as a demi god in a sense. The style of the dragon looks to be early Muromachi I love the circular movement and balance. The woody bark looking texture is phenomenal.
  14. this one makes me think of tree tops of a forest.
  15. I stared at the internet for 2 hours to 10 hours a day for a year Looking at everything I’m a visual person though and I just have to see it once and that’s it I mostly look at old swords though i say test yourself look at the mei and go through every single picture and article on the web till you find part of it someone writing about it soon subconsciously you’ll say the name when you see it I brainwashed myself into Japanese sword identification I have and will always have a long ways to go Don’t get overwhelmed That’s what I did Brians flash card idea 💡 is great too Everyone has good ideas
  16. I just got the same message as Bruce.....conversation has been ended
  17. I feel like a dummy now for wasting your time...I apologize Bruce.
  18. THE LAST OF THE KANESADA by Markus Sesko i hope this helps a little I'm very new when it comes to modern blades
  19. Could the Kanesada be from the Gifu prefecture ? I could be totally lost on this one.
  20. I forgot to mention it is non toxic acrylic on red construction poster paper and most likely will be for sale with a small part of the money being donated to charity. If someone from the message board is interested making an offer to buy it and that is allowed some of the money will be donated to the house. The price will be more than fair. It should be finished by the end of the week. Thank you again Brian for the chance to show my art on here.
  21. Thanks Brian I seen it was pottery and a few other things were topics so I didn't want to show the whole thing if I was told to take it down. Well I wanted to start to do some traditional Japanese art and paintings so I thought I would warm up with something contemporary so it would be interesting and a fresh take but yet still hold some traditional values with the style the koi are painted with. I chose the red paper and then wanted the red spots to have breaks. This will show more with the other fish with the overlapping and body lining of their fins. I also wanted them to look a bit ghostly yet hollow yet living at the same time. I guess the concept would be the timeless life of traditional Japanese art. The koi are continuously flowing yet in stillness in an endless void of our own imagination.
