Where is the insult? Because you address many publicly.. but it seems you have a problem when many address you. Why wouldn't you just choose to have everything transparent ? Where's the logic? I'm putting it to rest as all of it is just another innuendo. Godspeed, I'm out J.

What is your agenda here ? Annoying respected and respectful people will not produce anything but potential action against your account. Is it truly necessary? Also, it is great to offer a perspective as long as you do NOT INSIST everyone accepts it JUST because of your logic. I have to say the majority of your posts carry a provocative and negatively connotated approach just for the sake of an endless argument which most certainly Will NOT produce any long lasting, positive, educational result. So why bother? I'm not here to pass judgement or tell you how to convey yourself however the majority of your statements are off topic as I once stated already. So dear John Wick, have a beer and a shot on me and chill the F out. No need to pinch the mamba's tail - you might get bitten. Cheers to better future endeavors! P.S. it's hypocrisy to suggest logic when the majority of your actions are completely unrelated and illogical IMHO. Johnny

Hola, $1000 plus shipping/PP fees. I wouldn't pass on it, good smith! No forging flaws, small rust spot underneath the habaki that hasn't changed in the decade I've owned the blade. Good kissaki and hada and hamon similar to Kotetsu. 16 3/8 nagasa 5.6mm motogasane

I didn't know you speak Bulgarian. Job well done! 😜 J.

Not my statement! Knowing what a sword is built for I'm 'ok' with it. I look at its aesthetic side 99% but I respect and I acknowledge its other sides also. We are all expressing different perspectives so no judgments or unnecessary debates are intended. Oh and that name you mentioned.. .and whatever is happening in the region... is the last thing I want to discuss. Considerably off topic. J.

I've read that during koto times the blades were tested on convicted criminals to: 1st - punish them for their wrongdoings (thief gets their arm/s cut off or worse) 2nd - reassure that blade is strong and sharp enough to survive in battle 3rd - who knows maybe give the steel a taste of blood In any event, at the time (and later) it was the weapon used for other reasons besides an elegant 'one on one' as what you value the most in your personal opinion. Also, most of the bodies cut were probably not even alive at the time of the test. I personally find nothing psychopathic about any of it but no argument intended whatsoever. Angles.. J.

+1 Definitely not hagire and even if this forging flaw chips off you still have plenty to polish as it appears the hamon is pretty high up. That's what I see/think. Pour a drink, I'll take one too Johnny

Now that I look with sober eyes, I concur. Thank you! J.

I misunderstood then. Easy to pinpoint an approximate value by looking what sells around in the same condition. The noticeable difference would be prices in EU, Japan and the US. J.

Thank you Kirill. Sukenaga? John

I'd like to offer my 2 cents. I'd consider it if you are ready to go through the complete restoration which isn't cheap and sometimes it takes long to receive back. Not many are properly trained so you've got to select carefully. If you are to be going with the investment then I wouldn't be looking for a mediocre restoration. To me, the length of the cutting edge and thickness of where the tang starts are a decisive factor. If it is to turn around and sell, most likely not. Cheers, J P.S I like the tempering part a lot. I see yakidashi (the beginning of the tempering part) so it could be a Shinto piece... or it's just the photos 😜

Request for information about shipping a blade to Germany
NewB replied to NewB's topic in General Nihonto Related Discussion
I just want to report that the customs inspection and delivery passed with flying colors. I did provide a thorough information and included a screenshot of the transaction amount and parties involved. Happy on both accounts! Thanks to all that provided guidance and insight! Cheers! J. -
Gentlemen It's pointless expanding/debating on/about this. The fellow forumite has a mind of his own and that's quite alright. while It's noble to intend to restore and preserve, in this case is simply a mission impossible. If I were to be a togishi I'd reject the project as this blade would do more damage to the polishing stones than anything else. Hard to justify considering the photos. Just wishing peace and success J.

My most sincere condolences. The nihonto guild lost one of the most respected and prominent scholars! 🙏 J -
