The glue used originally has nothing to do with glue as we know it. Yes, you can use anything to repair it but I wouldn't. Chemicals might have a negative impact on the blade itself and then some. I think the forum has info on qualified Saya makers within the US. I HIGHLY recommend going that route.

I doubt a person that hasn't had the 'common level' blades ever would even know what they are looking at/understand it/appreciate it/study it. Now if that's the billionaire club, call ALL dealers and ask them to show you what they have in their 'vaults' (as someone suggested that they have MANY for sale available). Then the blade/s will pick you

Hello
I think it is:
Yamato Kami Yoshimichi 大和守吉道 (I can't verify the signature is authentic although I see many traits of the school). Mid to late 1600s.
It appears to be wakizashi. I suggest you keep it oiled with choji oil and do NOT touch the polished area. Then decide whether to have it authenticated and restored (if need be).
Many references online.
I am a big fan of the school.

Everything will be Ok, However motogasane is never advertised so ... be wary of receiving pretty thin blade sometimes.. returning it can be a LONG process.

To me the mei isn't the problem that much (tough to figure with the photo angle) but the nakago and the hada are nothing that resembles my papered (and unpapered) examples.

I see some Osaka Mishina traits but this is first time for me to see masame in the ha for the school. Also It looks like a well forged blade that may be worth researching more so nothing is lost. I also always recommend buying from trusted sources on the forum or at least share what you intend to purchase before you pull the trigger. Most of the knowledgeable folks that hang out here are kind enough to offer an opinion and direction.

Hello,
To me, it appears as gimei at a first glance. More photos of the kissaki, hada and better view angle of the nakago could help considerably but this is signed as tachi which I have never seen by the smith and the nakago jiri is a shape that I haven't seen by the smith also.
I may very well be wrong but as someone that collects Yoshimichi primarily I'd say it may very well be gimei.
Cheers

As long as you have no reserve sellers, junk sellers, fake copies etc. it will never be logical market. That in turn is great for people with knowledge as they have lots great scores all over But SUCKS for beginners.
I know inside and out another 2 separate industries and I can say for certain that nothing is more illogical than the nihonto World. You go figure..
