  1. Joe Ohmura San did mention few wavy Hamon Mantetsu blades exist,it should be special order one. I have one, and I think Neil got one as well. http://ohmura-study.net/222.html 筆者注 例外的に乱刃が存在する。恐らく特注品であろう。
  2. It doesn't look like Type 98 to me at all. It more like territory made sword if it's not Chinese repro.
  3. Some people might never change the way they used to, just like MOST people in the western world(Collectors and dealers ) use 村田刀 Murata-To for 造兵刀 Zohei-To, even though the 造兵刀 is the official name for those swords. As far as I know what they are talking about , it's fine with me,don't want/need to correct them for the official name. I agree with the name 臨時制式 "Rinji Seishiki"not the short term 臨時 "Rinji" though. But I will still use Type 3 & Late war Type 3 when I talk to other collectors who use to that name.
  4. I saw most of them have white cotton on ,not many canvas though.
  5. I like the one in the middle with Canvas handle wrap the most.
  6. I had 8 of Mantetsu sword,2 are in Manchurian Rinji Seishiki mount. One of the MRS and one Wavy Hamon at my friends' place.
  7. I found this Manchukuo NCO sword, the style of the tassel on it kinda like the one I post, but not the same.
  8. Andrew 溫 could means Warm,Temperature,or even some one's Family name. Not sure what it means here.

  17. Here is another Type 98 with numbered Habaki
  18. Steve Thanks for the photos! Whether it's a sword tassel or not, I think it's not for IJA/IJN. More like something from Manchukuo, people told me it was on a Manchukuo sword.
  19. Dan $605 is not bad at all.But the price of NCO IS dropping for sure.

  21. It's hard to tell the Kanji after 大, you can compare it with other 2 (大物& 大持)from 藤原兼永,both are not really like this Kanji. Kind of like 庸 ,but doesn't make any sense.
  22. 兼丈 Kanetake Civilian Name 福田丈太郎 Jotaro
