  1. Indeed(???????????) Of course! What else here-Not?-(Laugh!) Christian
  2. Mariusz do not worry!-(but i already told you....) The only personal "art" (yourself may, can, will add to an wonderful(sometimes) object of the past) in building an collection for yoursself-is to buy to the right moment and price-that´s all, ever was-and ever will be... We all do that....? Laugh! :D Christian
  3. Brian, looks like it already is gone...can not refind it....(was on Ebay.com/Tsuba/Highest price First....very easy to find...) Christian
  4. Indeed! i think somebody should grap it-it´s offered for an very excellent price-and if like that(it actually looks like for me in just referencing on the pictures)somebody seriously interested in good quality Tsuba, should take it! Such pieces are relatively rare to find, however in regard of " if Market or No Market......" Very long time i did see such on Ebay... Somebody does have,or had in past, good relation to this seller? Christian
  5. have an look here, too(after reading Pete´s post below-i found this one here-equally Ebay...) I do like it very much-great design-great Tsuba! Not to mention-great price of course for an Owari with paper!(just had to see it in hands of course...) Christian
  6. perhaps not really that what is mentioned here... have an closer look to those iron fittings, which seem to be forged+that very placement, very near to the Fuchi,of the Ana(which does speak hard for an Ken-Tsuka). Not such fast in attributing-i tend to say.... Not that bad at all! Christian
  7. Well??? So if you do know already?-Why do you ask?-And why do you buy-if you do have an bad feeling??????????? Come On Guys! There´s PLENTY PLENTY PLENTY (!) of very excellent literature offered here on the sales-section,many excellent books-many for dumping prices if not yes ridiculous priced! Buy you books-read them-buy new again,study(!)-till up to that moment you get "Sick of"-then again(!)-buy New Books-and just THEN!-buy you whatever you would call a Sword a Tsuba or whatever else! I really do not know how many times this all i write here was mentioned already? But it seems that the spoon missed the soup(again).... Christian
  8. Ahhhh!-Yeees!-LOL! (first i was sceptic-but here i just can say-WELL DONE BRIAN!) LOL and an hearthly Prost to you! (need more?) Cheers! Christian
  9. Well done! i feel very happy for you! Either way-if there should be questions-please do not hesitate-in pictures of course! (for translation, there are others and better ones here(of course!)...LOL! Christian
  10. Dear Brian, the execution of this calligraphy does look younger than Shoin. Mine guess is actually it may come from one of his schoolars eventually. The Seal, equally may be an indicator-have to check this... Please be so kind/feel free so to send me some more pictures of this scroll-i´ll compare the work and let you know... Christian
  11. i think the "reason-answer" may be much simplier than thought perhaps? Akao were not produced as much than one may think perhaps-so it´s just natural, that there´s not much relevant mentioning in literature, but also in reference examples ben left. Those depicted Tsuba here are all(at least for me)-very nice Akao Tsuba-however i do miss an earlier piece on which we could find the beginnings, and which would allow us,so to evaluate the latter ones....perhaps,but,we will see one exemplaire in next time? Hope, there´s an collector reading this threat and ben willing so to show us some more...Laugh.... Me, i sorrowly do not have one of this group-either way i do like them and they do show much grace(for mine personal taste) Nice post-and nice Tsuba here Christian
  12. thank you Brian for this intervenation! Despite this comment here-i do wish everybody reading, studying and evaluating what is known-an very nice Christmas!(may those things you personally do admire-come in focus-if not yet found) Christian
  13. Dear Adrian thank you for your´s answer here-in fact, this does clearify mine thoughts "why" you point this and what you do see/are especially looking on... You are right and not right of course. I do agree with this delicate example here from point of view of it´s metallurgical visible factor-Not,but in regard so to question it-as it does show everything an Yamashiro blade is looked and known for. Grounding on it´s hypothetical geographical origin is more than just courious-if you do take these (Ideas) as an base!(Me, i would be very very careful here) Regarding it´s metalurgic aspect-Please do not get confused by later Yamashiro blades-which nearly completely lost those(partial)visible appearence(s). I do see-it´s a very tricky Minefield you are running through-in fact-you just can´t grant an hypothesis just due the fact of(in)examining just one single object. You had to find parallel datas in other blades!-not just a handful-but several..... Agree here with the other´s collectors posts....you do not drive an Tank-are but running against an well established Bunker-System...( )! Either way-i do enjoy this post here and do like to read controversial ideas! Christian
  14. Dear Adrian, in full respect of your´s and the your´s beloved research work you do and did your(s)self-equally, in full respect of your´s personal very strong stamina, interest and passion you do show here...(and believe me please,-i fully do honour and respect such hard to ben found characteristica in todays collectors mind )- i, but-just have to ask here...as i do not understand the your´s idea here....to be very honest: Why(?) shall this Yamashiro-Den blade be other-than an very excellent(outstanding-perfect-phantastic-georgeous-minutious,ect.ect...) Yamashiro-Den blade? And of course!-Where shall there be an any slightest Soshu in? (just to clearify(i do speak from that very blade you did post pictures here- and i read and thought about what you wrote, studied your´s essaye, read those other posts-reread again-but,to say it honest at least-i do not really understand....)(perhaps you may explain me?) Yamashiro is Yamashiro-Or do i see ghosts here(!?)or am i completely wrong here perhaps??? (this of course-does happen-LOL!) Sorry!(?????) Christian
  15. Dear Adrian, isn´t this sword an Yamashiro-Den one? As far as i do know the Yamashiro tradition does appear already very early in Tosho such like Soshu Kunitsuna,Shintogu Kunimitsu and others. Christian
  16. So what? i do think there´s nothing to add here any longer(from point of educational view concerning this mentioned Owari Sukashi Tsuba) If still?-please do let me know-as,if such,it seems, i may/did/will missunderstand something here perhaps? Does this threat here intend so to give an evaluation and help to this very Tsuba David(Akitombo) did post? Or does this threat go in direction of "How to preserve""How much similaritie´s"(please what???-Sorry-but what do you see here???)- there may be to Kanayama Tsuba...ect..? Didn´t we speak about this one single piece here? I just saw that there´s one Sukashi Tsuba of an very familiar execution(but younger) still offered since quite a longer time now(as i did learn after inquiery);by an reputed Japanese Seller on his web-side,equally it is interesting that this Tsuba is described as "Moji"sukashi (letter design)/which of course sounds better to me than mine first thought of "stilised personnages" as i wrote before...) This spoken Tsuba by this dealer, does equally show much more significances than first expected-i do think it,may be better so to follow those hints Ford Hallam did gave here already just in the beginnings of this threat;and do further research on those informations. (But-didn´t i wrote this already?) Christian
  17. well Marc, we but already had this-Not? So to be honest-i do not really understand those both post´s before the your´s here... But well-let them play... LOL! Christian
  18. Excellent!-in fact-Excellent! i just have to disagree in just one single(slight point)(Sorry for this Pete!) The three toes do appear equally in Chinese and also Korean art-not common-but they do! Fantastic Tsuba!-mine very honest and sincere Congratulations! -(either way-but you do know that) Christian
  19. Dear Gents well, sorry here-but meanwhile it seems me that certain collectors do see "Holy Kanayama" everywhere...and if not-they do look and have an surch, till one slightest, minimal aspect of an item-(may show us just some similarities to known Kanayama-and up to then-ITS OF COURSE KANAYAMA! Laugh! Do not worry-this one here is certainly an very typical, classic, nice Owari which´s Patination unfortunately is down now... Either way-an interesting Tsuba, which may make pleasure so to do further research in-and which of course is an very nice collectors object... Christian
  20. Yes-i would agree with Ford here... It´s an very interesting piece! (do not sell it-and if?-then let me know of course!) LOL! How about the idea of stylised personnages(left and right)performing an so called "archaic war dance"? Just an first idea here-i just saw this post... Such stylised motive can partially ben seen on bronze mirrors... ? Christian
  21. Dear Ludolf, i just can speak for mine own here-but to say this in this way-it´s "more than just" honourable! I equally do think that most of us here-meanwhile do collect since years-if not decades in some part when i do see all those names here appearing... Such taken in point and considder-i equally think that "we all"(?) have seen enough of those crabs trying to steal or thinking to take collectors for idiots-Not? If not we(collectors)-who else?(LOL!) If this "honourable" person you just do describe "would" use his brain-"he"´d very certainly recognise, that prices which do represent the actual market do bear an high percentual level of those "intelligent" sellers-Not?-LOL! They do digg themself-so no worry in an eventual bad feeling you personally may have! Me for mine part i do know-i only do buy from collectors,or very reputable dealers!(and those are quite a handful since decades-Not (Question)! (and to add something for those who still think-Hey That´s a "deal"- i just can say-well,not really!) Christian
  22. Cool!-in fact-very cool! Kunishige-here i would agree... Namban-here rather not...Hizen sounds better for me here.... Pete-please be so kind so to provide us with the exact measurements-how thick is the mimi/and how thick is the Kunishige plate(looks like you could measure this on the ana?) Christian
  23. Oh-i feel very sorry if mine writing was not clear-Pardon! What i did try to express-is that me,not only do doupt this Signature(on which i did but not focus mineself at all);but rather on the general work-and this is much more important in mine view. I tend to say-this is an well intended Fake which did but not pass it´s obvious intention ... Hopefully none of you both(Marc,Sebastian)did purchase it.... Christian
  24. May i ask following questions here? Who,but of you both, does want to know/or get an answer? Marc or Sebastian? It´s obviously an Tsuba which is known(otherwise we hadn´t those pictures here, which seem to be known-at least for those who took part in the auction/sight) Persé-It´s obviously an Tsuba which already,(in past?)-stood,have ben,somehow/however? in discussion.?(If i am wrong here-please be so kind so to correct me!) So what? What shall this piece of iron be,ben,titulated/attributed to-or is this just an evaluation of...? Sorry! Christian
  25. Dear John, sorry-but despite one or two which are equally in the Boston-book,i do have nothing... Too young for mine scans and references... Either way-Good Luck! Christian
