  1. Just seeing this post. I have a tiny little moroha tanto by Osafune Kiyomitsu. Approximately 3.5" nagasa and 5.5" overall.
  2. I have one you can see here: https://yakiba.com/gallery/
  3. I appreciate your attempt to alert me to a possible typo. However, those measurements are correct. It is for a small tanto and I know exactly what I want. It should barely protrude outside the width of the seppa, no more than 0.25" or 6.3mm. (see attached).
  4. Looking for a small hamidashi tsuba in suaka copper for a project. Dimensions of approximately 1.75" (0.069mm) X 1.25" (0.049mm) X 0.1875" (0.0074mm). With or without the kozuka cutout as seen in the provided example. No motif or embellishment required, in fact I would prefer a plain smooth finish. Something like this iron piece only in suaka. If you have something like this, please contact me via the email address below. Thanks, Ed
  5. Brian, I do not think you are being unreasonable at all. When you first began the dealer section, I considered it. Ultimately I decided it was an additional expense I did not wish to incur. However, out of respect for your hard work as well as this group I also stopped posting anything for sale here. No reason other than I didn't feel it was right to offer anything for sale without joining the dealer section.
  6. Seems to be a crap shoot with this dealer. Many praise her, many hate her. I have heard her nickname is Damnyou54. ???

    Osoraku Tanto

Mumei, 2 mekugi ana, no attribution. Who cares, stop nit picking, that is a very nice blade and a very fair price.
  8. Second generation Bungo Shigeyuki (c. Kanbun 1661-1673) signed Fujiwara Shigeyuki.
  9. I have an Ainu sword I might would sell. Sword and saya.

  10. Great Koshirae, great photos. Thanks for sharing.
  11. I will attend. Bringing a few nice swords by makers such as Ono Yoshimitsu, Kurihara Akihide, Hizen Tadayoshi along with various tosogu. Looking forward to seeing all the guns as well as speaking with old friends and making new ones.
  12. Forgot to post a few more photos of this Gendai tsuba by Matsuyama Seiken.
  13. This is obviously an oil quenched, non-traditionally made sword. There were several "Kanemoto" working in the Showa period (1926-1989). I remember there were a couple of Rikugun jumei tosho and maybe one Kaigun jumei tosho. At any rate this is NOT the famous Kanemoto you are hoping for. Probability 99.9999%.
  14. Special thanks to Brian who has diligently stayed the course of maintaining this site for years now. You have done a great job. While I fade in / fade out at times, I have always thought highly of the NMB and what it has accomplished.
  15. I have this set of Soten F/K depicting Shachi or Dragonfish.
  16. Cruising around here today and saw this thread which has been active quite a while. Piers, I took these atop Himeji Castle
  17. I thought I did, but can't find them. I will take some additional photos in the next day or so.
  18. I am envious.
  19. Tom, Sorry for the confusion, don't know what I was thinking this morning, must have been still half asleep. I have corrected them. The first one, yatsuhashi is Toshiyuki, Tamaoka Toshiyuki. The second one, rake and pine needle, is by sword smith Matsuyama Seiken.
  20. Another by the sword smith Matsuyama Seiken.
  21. Gendai Tsuba by Tamaoka Toshiyuki
  22. It happens, but is not limited to rednecks. Pretty much anyone that is relatively new to the hobby, unknowledgeable or perhaps unconcerned with history, preservation, etc. I once sold a katana to an attorney in Philadelphia who later wrote to inform me he had bent the blade while cutting mats in the back yard. He even included a video which depicted the sordid event.
  23. A pet peeve of mine for sure. Not limited to dealers, but anyone that writes.
  24. I saw him just a couple of weeks ago at the Chicago show. He stays pretty busy, I wouldn't worry.
  25. If you would even consider buying this POS, you should put buying "on hold" and spend some time studying. Spend that money on books!
