Can someone tell me what era this maybe from and translate the text?

Not sure that it is Japanese. Writing seems off to me. But I'll reserve judgement and wait for the translators.

Also, the sword appears, from the limited photos, to be a reproduction. The wrap on the handle is done in the Chinese style and the nakago ?? looks rough. Additionally, the seppa (or whichever that part is with the writing) opening is cut very roughly. Better photos of the entire sword may lend more answers.

Ito wrap is in the 1-directional Chinese style, too.

At least it pretends to be Japanese... The inscription on the tsuba reads:

 

近江守長幸作 = Ōmi no Kami Nagayuki saku

The inscription reads like Simplified Chinese for '近江守长幸作', but honestly, it’s just a Japanese wannabe.

Why would we fill the translation section with kanji that is on a fake? Translating fake items is pointless once they are identified.
