KJ55 Posted January 4 Report Posted January 4 (edited) I'm hoping for some assistance with the Mei on this iron tsuba, as well as any insight into the maker/style. Thank you in advance... Edited January 4 by KJ55 spelling error 4 Quote

Curran Posted January 9 Report Posted January 9 Yeah- glad I saw this outside the Tosogu group. Another collector in NYC and I are both into Norisuke tsuba. We hoped to have a joint exhibit of them some day. The NYC collector has a lot of nice ones, and I have a few too. Quote
Curran Posted January 9 Report Posted January 9 Nidai, the 2nd generation. I'd guess from the 1860s Compare signature 1 Quote

KJ55 Posted January 10 Author Report Posted January 10 Wow, thank you for posting these images. While I see the similarities, the Tsuba posted by Curran seems to be much more dramatic. The waves have more dimension than the one I posted. It's wonderful to be able to see more than one piece by potentially the same maker side by side. Quote
kissakai Posted January 10 Report Posted January 10 This my mumei T232 that may be a Norisuke tsuba Quote
