yogoro Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 I have recently bought new piece. Is large mokko gata form tsuba 10,5 x 10 x 0,5 cm. This Saotom – Tenpo look like tsuba has interesting brass zogan design - plants motif and two major characters - my friend collector suggest that are sanskrit bonji characters. In ura site above kogai hitsu ana are 3 kokuin stamps TEN (天) What do you think about this design ? Is late Edo Tenpo tsuba and Buddhist symbols ? Kind regards Mikolaj Quote

Dragon and tiger, bamboo forest and tiger, plum tree and dragon, bamboo and plum tree,--- those combinations are most popular motif of traditional paintings of Japan. K Morita Quote
