Unknown stamp

I can’t identify this stamp on the koshirae of a sword I have. I’ve looked through the stamps download with no luck. Hoping someone has some information on it.

Which type of kyu gunto is this?

The Type 8/19 and Kyugunto have a variety of stamps that we have no reference for.  I believe them to be shop stamps or logo of the manufacturers.  The only known one we see is the Suya Shoten stamp in that location.  The rest, like yours are unknown.

A little hard to see, so below are my theories:

There's a stamp in @Bruce Pennington stamps document called "Kami", that looks very similar, although in the document it's inside a sakura flower.
Listed as:
" (iii) ‘Kami’( meaning ‘God’) stamp. Significance unknown. Found only on shin-guntō tsuba. Very rare."

 

A couple possibilities that come to mind:
岐 = Gifu 岐  = Gifu Stamp.

社 社 = SHA 各民間工場 Each civilian/private factory

@Scogg I just looked and it does look very similar. Too bad we don’t have any further information.

 

@Bruce Pennington thanks Bruce. I was expecting to see the Suya stamp and was surprised to see this unknown stamp.

 

@Rawa it’s a generals 1875 Army command Sabre.

I just got the tingles. Koshirae with blade??

Yes with blade. I was interested in the translation carved into the lock release. Hoping it could shed some light on who owned it.
