Johnbull Posted December 6, 2021 Report Posted December 6, 2021 Maybe Tadayuki, Think date is 1943. Is it legit? Any help appreciated thanks. Quote
ROKUJURO Posted December 6, 2021 Report Posted December 6, 2021 Yes, looks like TADAYUKI, February 1942. It is a military blade, and I think I can see an arsenal stamp (SEKI?). If so, it is probably a SHOWATO. Quote
george trotter Posted December 6, 2021 Report Posted December 6, 2021 Yes, Feb 1942 and Seki stamp. VERY nice writing....we don't usually see such high quality on showato Regards, To add: (sorry Brian) but ROKUJURO, I see you are located "in a deep valley"...can't help thinking of the word "crevice" ...to quote General Melchet in Blackadder "Now Blackadder, security is not a dirty word, but crevice, well, that is an absolutely filthy word". (Sorry, English humour)....can't help it. 1 2 Quote
ROKUJURO Posted December 6, 2021 Report Posted December 6, 2021 George, I think I can understand the latent humour behind your remark. But I assure you this term is used in an absolutely innocent and purely topographical way! Oni soit qui mal y pense! Who ist General Melchet in Blackadder? Should I know him? I have no TV, if that's a TV story. 1 Quote

But no...definitely no mal y pense here. Blackadder was a series on BBC. It started in medieval times, then Tudor, then Georgian and finally WWI. Very funny English humour...the last episode was very sad however...all killed in the last charge "over the top" in WWI. You should look it up On-line? Keep up the good work. regards, Quote
Bryce Posted December 6, 2021 Report Posted December 6, 2021 Don't want to hijack this thread, but Blackadder is the funniest TV show ever! Cheers, Bryce Quote

The large Seki, in my observation is, at minimum, a sign of really well made showato. This is only the 2nd Tadayoshi blade in found in my survey. Thanks John for the photos! Quote
