Toryu2020 Posted April 29, 2021 Report Posted April 29, 2021 I believe this is read Kazutada 一忠 - there is a Taisho era smith listed using this name. Anyone seen this before? Any help appreciated, -t Quote
kissakai Posted May 1, 2021 Report Posted May 1, 2021 Isn't this like the stamp I posted a few days ago and was reported as a typical Chinese sword Only an opinion Quote
vajo Posted May 1, 2021 Report Posted May 1, 2021 Hmm looks a little different Grev. I'm not sure. Could you show more from the blade and the nakago? 1 Quote

These hotstamps usually mirror the smith's name. Do you have a photo of the mei and the nakago? Quote
Shugyosha Posted May 2, 2021 Report Posted May 2, 2021 Markus Sesko lists a Showa era smith working in Dewa signing 羽州住 一忠 “Ushu ju Kazutada”. Civilian name Takada Gosaku. 1 Quote
Toryu2020 Posted May 2, 2021 Author Report Posted May 2, 2021 As noted - I did find the one Kazutada in the meikan - pretty sure this is him but was hoping someone had seen one of his works. Apologies, I do not have pictures of the blade or of course I would have posted them... -t 1 Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted May 2, 2021 Report Posted May 2, 2021 Thomas, and John! Nick Komiya at Warrelics said it could be what you say - Kazutada - and Guy found the same reference in Sesko's book. It's now part of Stamps of the Japanese Sword, ver 8.1, to be released in the future. 2 Quote
