Brodieb Posted May 26, 2019 Report Posted May 26, 2019 Thanks everyone for the help with the translation of my wakizashi. But I'm having trouble finding information regarding the smith (Noshu junin Nobutaka) in particular the age of the piece. Any further information would be appreciated. Thanks Brodie Quote
BIG Posted May 26, 2019 Report Posted May 26, 2019 Hi Brodie, first generation Nobutaka was born in Kamiarichi, Noshu. Best Quote
Brian Posted May 26, 2019 Report Posted May 26, 2019 Can't find a Nobutaka signing that way. Needs more research. 1 Quote
Greg F Posted June 21, 2019 Report Posted June 21, 2019 Gday Brodie, I like both the blades youve posted. Good to see another Ausie on board. Regards Greg Quote
16k Posted June 21, 2019 Report Posted June 21, 2019 what you have seems to be a nagamaki naoshi. The style of the blade looks Seki to me (word of caution: I’m not an expert but with the word naoshi and the Hamon, I shouldn’t be straying too far). For the age, maybe a picture of the tang and the actual signature would help. Quote
