drbvac Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 SO if you offered him 1100 dollars as a best offer and won on e-bay you would still pay more than on the auction >>?? :x :x Quote
eternal_newbie Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Well, at least the account name of the seller is accurate - the "premium" part of it, anyway  Quote
Marius Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Doesn't think very highly of teh intelligence of gaijin, no? Quote
Pete Klein Posted January 12, 2013 Author Report Posted January 12, 2013 Exactly. You know, it immediately reminded me of some dialogue in the movie, 'Rising Sun' where Jingo Asakuma, who is researching a video disc containing evidence of a murder, says about the Japanese company officials, "It pisses me off, though. They expect us to be sloppy Americans. They think we will not be thorough, not be intelligent". That line has actually given me a lot of traction in my research over the years. Quote
Jean Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 The best of the best is the translation of the kanteisho, in The English translation, it is Old Mino Quote
estcrh Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Japan-premium-seller-trading-assistant...These people take photos from Japanese auctions and web sites and then they jack the price up 400% just to ensure a small profit, stay away from them and the other couple of clone companies on ebay that do the same thing. Many times the items they show are not even available any more. I Personally know several sellers who have contacted ebay to protest their items being offered for sale by these people with photos that they do not have permission to use but ebay does nothing, most of these sellers will not even allow you to contact them through ebay, not quite a scam but as close as you can get without crossing the line. b.hennick Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Checking completed auctions it is surprizing how many sales they have made. So it works Quote
Brian Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 Yep, discussed these guys before. They list a buncha stuff that is for sale elsewhere and if someone buys it, they make the purchase. If sold already, they just make some excuses why the item cannot be sold. In most (all?) cases, the owners don't even know the item is listed elsewhere for sale. Those prices are insane. Brian Quote
Curran Posted January 12, 2013 Report Posted January 12, 2013 For what it is worth, Fuji_5005 is a scumbag Japanese seller. Yes, I meant "scumbag". #1 avoid of two or three on Yahoo!Japan that I won't deal with. I wouldn't be surprised if he is somehow connected with japanese_premium_seller. Of course.... this "arbitrage" is practiced by two american dealers. So the 'sloppy americans' comment applies equally here. Quote
Soshin Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 Hi Pete K., Thanks for the links and the heads up about this very bad seller on eBay which I consider what he is doing is a downright scam. Its really bad eBay doesn't do anything. On the light side the verbiage is really very funny to read. My favorite is Chicago of the same hand are specified in many important sword brace.. It sounds a bit like me trying to speak Japanese to my wife. Yours truly, David Stiles Quote

Communication good."...one of their satisfied customers feedback comments...they couldnt find the item....because the real owner of the item had the nerve to sell it before they could. Quote
sanjuro Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 This amused me..... When reading down the bottom of the page where they attempt to justify their existence, I read: We are representing a group of local sellers, shops and collectors who are experiencing difficulty with expressing themselves in English Now thats great if you dont have any trouble expressing yourself on someone elses behalf. However, on reading the item description, there seems to be something of a gap in the translations. Perhaps they need someone to help them express themselves? Quote

kusunokimasahige Posted January 13, 2013 Report Posted January 13, 2013 They found a loophole and should be avoided at all times. Also, their work method should be publicized widely among the collector's community. KM Quote
