  1. Thanks Guys I always try to offer the best service I can to anyone who buys from me. Peter
  2. I have a special order Niwa Kanenobu and it has the Nagoya arsenal stamp on the nakago mune. Niwa Kanenobu is a great smith, mine is loaded with activity and nie.
  3. If your based near Birmingham or Stockport you could bring it down to one of the militaria fairs. The Northern To-Ken society has a table at both fairs and would be happy to look at it.
  4. I also don't recall ever seeing a "type 3" with a blade dated earlier than 1943. Does anyone have an example of a type 3 with a dated blade earlier than 43?
  5. I've seen a few in the UK at fairs or in Bill Taggs shop. Definitely uncommon, but that one on eBay is very overpriced.
  6. Not surprised to discover that the paper is fake....as I mentioned previously the signature didn't match the examples in the books. Once you've got your money back buy a sword that's already in the UK. You have one of the best UK dealers Don Bayney on your doorstep.
  7. That means the seller has shipped the sword illegally from Japan, it normally takes 2 weeks or so to get an export permit.
  8. If its not too late get your money back. There are much better deals to be had from reputable dealers with modern NBTHK papers. You've basically bought an unpapered katana with a very high risk of being gimei. For the price you paid its not worth it.
  9. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SA724-Japanese-Samurai-Sword-NBTHK-Omura-Kaboku-Katana-in-Shirasaya-/141790447770?hash=item21035e889a
  10. As a new collector Joel would be unaware of the problems with old NBTHK papers....but he was warned in a previous thread about the dangers of buying from eBay by a few experienced forum members. Being in London he should have gone to Don Bayney's shop in Grays Antique Market.
  11. I would get some good opinions on the signature before buying this sword, it doesn't compare well with examples in the books.
  12. If the eBook was published on the Amazon Kindle store you could push out updates to the content as and when needed. The end user wouldn't have to do anything and would just receive the updated book automatically.
  13. Just keep checking the CD Japan website, they have gone out of stock a few times now so its likely they will get more.
  14. Hi Markus, Can you buy an ebook version? Thanks, Peter
  15. Hi Klaus, Unfortunately it's by neither of those two Kanetada. It must be someone else...
  16. Thanks Grey. Anyone have any idea which Kanetada it might be?
  17. Paul Martin is back in the UK early November, he would take it to Japan for you for restoration. You can contact Paul via his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/The.Japanese.Sword
  18. Anyone have any ideas on this mei from a gunto. I'm thinking Kanetada maybe? Guess one of the seki guys? Thanks, Peter
