  1. Often those sellers have their own sites too.
  2. You have other sites. Treat offers as ads. Simply check on other things provided by same seller. If pictures are made in many diffefent ways its probably reseller and your item is somewhere there.
  3. Try category https://www.jauce.com/category/2084259484?select=05&page=1&n=100
  4. Thats my point. Try to search "nihonto" on both sites. Uncomparable results.
  5. Buyee wont mediate with sword purchases? Also you have in jauce their combined shipping.
  6. Thank you! Great info. So even in old days some samurai would have this as possible back up.
  7. Why such slot was made? It was for fitting longer blades into gunto koshirae? [Kabutogane/sarute] Any typical koshirae? Late war type 3 with blades made with whatever can cut? It indicates that blade is prewar? [Why waste material to forge longer nakago just to punch through it?]
  8. 100% was welded.
  9. I found blade with similar hamon by same smith https://kako.nipponto.co.jp/swords/KT122460.htm
  10. All good Mr @Brian you can move thread to sold archive.
  11. I don't have better one. Torokusho should be valid.
  12. NBTHK was created for preservation swords with artistic values but we will live and see.
  13. Thx for info. Definietly worthy of preservation.
  14. Here you have ebay offer with similar motif [Mito school?] https://ebay.us/m/Z9XkIF
  15. How do you even understand simple term "handmade"? -as traditional hammering? Not using autohammer? Not interchangeably as "traditional"? How swords named shinsaku [current era swords] are made now? And most important thing to ask - If any of members have photos of war era sword factories please give me some. How looked this modernized process?
  16. And photo of different one which is extraordinary in my eyes. Saya is mint. What can I do? Blade in this one turn out to be welded. Seller was buying like crazy couple of years ago. But this koshirae was worthy.
  17. I'm sorry for making rumpus. It wasn't mine intention at all. Old info maybe is outdated. https://www.japaneseswordindex.com/showato.htm I was asking about quality of it. If it would ever be repolished would hamon [sambon-sugi?] be destroyed? Also seller stayes that blade is handmade... @Mister Guntokoshirae photos, saya and release button are not top notch.
  18. Is this normal for type 98 to have all sakura flowers kinda more shiny? Also release button have sharp finish.
  19. Sure why not. But in this case we have showato? Amongst all showa made gendaito showato still is at the bottom. I remember reading here in some topic started in year 2k11 about meaning of showa stamp. Showa with star will always be considered made in traditional way.
  20. Im able to buy this in great 98 type koshirae. Im more intetested in koshirae but as usual I have to buy it with sword. Please tell me what you think about this hamon. No star so it should be showato in some way but it also have torokusho.
