Yes! Ask for original auction pictures, Eric did great job. You got nice example.
-
Volker, You bought this great piece from Stefan? I was privately discussing with him original offer by eric and his claim that this blade is same from Slough oshigata book example :] Maybe Stefan after our talk changed description? Check please yourself with book as there was difference but it could be caused by different angles. I hope that blade is in fact from Slough and in great shape. Original ebay offer was in like september last year but long gone. Oshigata C page 138 if I remember correctly.

Waki from Marius was nice. 30$ for both: 5. Sotheby's nihonto auction catalogue from 1979 - no one wants it until now. 6. Japanese Swords and Fittings in the Western Australian Museum, George Trotter - 131 pages of great pics! Some saving for shipping and customs :] outbid me guys!

Volker, please tell us number of pages etc. -
Great example Volker. You acquired one of Moritsugu Norisada works?
-
@Scogg Sam could you add „盡忠報國” to this thread title? Easier to search for.

Bo-hi and tsuka-ito both with ito quality and wrapping patern are biggest indicators. Offered as original for 2699$ feels like promotion? https://ebay.us/m/EvaCCk

Same elongated habaki guys. Same ware. It sold for 950$. Bruce You killed it right away.

Two more. Emura saku. Type "E" from sword index page - it's not an accident that "E" is shaped that way. Third consistent example.
-
Suya shoten with marked seppa. Blade [Emura :/] looks like cleaned with acid. https://www.ebay.com/itm/135090391434

I did some mei comparison. I shortened mei to similar "Chounsai Emura Saku" articulation. While Slough calls mei with specific "mura" kanji as shoshin I would like to point differences in writing "sai". Nbthk Hozon [Nr 6 at picture] "sai" is carved with extra stroke in the middle, "mura" is Slough's example [Nr 7] have both "special-mura" and "full-sai" kanji. I'm waiting for Faustus getting his hozon [Nr4] . It will be another connection due to his version of "sai" and "mura" with bohi and maybe marks at nakago jiri similar to mine [Nr 5]. His "mura" version have differences too. I'm almost 100% sure that mei of mine piece [Nr 5] and Hozon [Nr 6] was chiseled by same hand, so authenticity guaranteed. I'm not feeling strong enough to speak about shorter mei or those having "sai" made with horizontal strikes made in different directions [examples J, K, L in main article from sword index. Thank You guys, stay big and dump here more to think about :].

Thanks Thomas! Have You ever met similar example?
-
Thank You Bruce. It's great to have you here. My first example have spots of black rust in mei carvings so even more convincing. Oh I found this phrase ;] ""Loyalty to the Country" (simplified Chinese: 精忠报国; traditional Chinese: 精忠報國; pinyin: Jīngzhōng bàoguó) is a Chinese patriotic song paying tribute to the Han general Yue Fei, a popular Chinese folk hero. The name of the song refers to a phrase tattooed on the back of Yue Fei, and a mantra with which he is commonly identified. The lyrics of the song allude to the Jin–Song Wars, in which Yue Fei played a pivotal role." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loyalty_to_the_Country I would like to add another find here and maybe another thread will grow. But still I'm not certain if this new example is genuine due to nakago being worked. https://pre98.com/shop/mon-jan-30-important-fantastic-Japanese-army-colonels-shin-gunto-sword-with-elaborate-ultra-rare-double-blade-inscription-extremely-rare-a-huge-big-deal-Japanese-sword/ But

I know that blade shouldn't have writings but in this case what You think? Elongated habaki? Fat tsuba with centered chuso, mumei. Looks solid and well maintained. Translated as "country of good faith" - Bizen reference? Maybe one of donated swords? https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/228562547_japanese-shin-gunto-katana-fairfield-me

Oh If You like to gather blades mentioned in Slough here You go: http://www.nihonto.us/TSUGUMASA GENDAI DS.htm and we had Moritsugu Norisada posted by @Sutraken in for sale tab also same as in Slough. [ex ericowazamono piece and He also adv. it as exact same blade from Slough] maybe Stefan could drop some pictures.

Minamoto Morinobu RJT star stamped and numbered 34, additional marks at mune. Same as in Slough's Oshigata book. https://japanesesword.com/archived-pages/2017/8/5/morinobu-katanaoshigata-used-in-sloughs-book-of-showa-smiths
