These swords are so badly faked that It's typical "what is good here case". Any element isn't corresponding with genuine example - at least not in full like NCO serial yeah it have some number but where is NAgoya arsenal stamp? etc. I hoped to find exactly these blades offered recently but couldn't. Please visit http://ohmura-study.net/900.html as a scratch-start.

Last picture something for yay and nay at once. Screw shouldn’t be imo visible, yet belt have some wear and tear. I always look for something like wear at obi-tori (haikan) every gunto saya could have some canvas or leather cover yet used gunto would have wear just there.

No way You got this in Poland :] Central figure is quadrangual maybe this one? Page 108 I got one proposed by Conway, yet nothing indicates that central figure could go out of this shape.

2 new NBTHK - simple emura saku claimed to be shoshin by Slough and another full chounsai emura saku really close to one I posted before. [reposting it again]

I'm bringing some interesting pictures. december 1941? yet kanji 斉 [sai] only 2 strikes so it's obvious difference with Slough's shoshin proposition.

RJT smiths making non-stamped gendaito, common?
Marcin replied to John C's topic in Military Swords of Japan
We had some blades without stamp yet numbered - starting order accomplished with blades already ready? I wonder If smiths could be payed with ore. They were obliged to prepare some number of swords in correlation to amount of tamahagane they got. Not all blades have shoshin mei so there were more idle hands than actual work in RJT program. [something extra kinda off topic] Kanemichi link link I wanted to ask about this blade for some time. It's one from stcroixblades. RJT smith yet this blade was dated as showa 15/1940/2600th year of Empire est. so before RJT program - example for reference. He had many students etc. so Dai saku mei/Dai mei examples were made for sure. If we had even one RJT contract ... -

Red Lacquer - Urushi - on Gunto
Marcin replied to Bruce Pennington's topic in Military Swords of Japan
Wasn't he also stating that this mounting was specially recently made for this blade? edit. - probably it was his discussion about another sword. -
Leather tsuka ito on Type 98- original or bubba wrap?
Marcin replied to John C's topic in Military Swords of Japan
100% not a leather I can drop „individual order with leather”- yet dunno if it isn’t modern put together. Btw-lacquered ones are way well preserved. jdirect ID: h1237088700 -
Thats why I want to go with no acid and on dress sword or mass produced cavalry or even I will get one after being made „in accordance with regulations” (cuted) I would like to check baths timing and diferent solution - yet it won’t work on nihonto and is stupid to try above yakiba.
-
I will hunt some kyu gunto next and will go for vinegar addition too - dunno how will work soda with choji solution and vinegar as booster. I wonder how vinegar bath or wet towel would work, also real copper/brass brush afterwards. This NCO shouldn't be polished to look as factory new - especially with these new high grade replica.
-
I found set of T98 - crude, yet even small seppa [last one from koiguchi side] is present. Nakago-ana wasn't fully cut or was cut for specific slim blade.

[Katana] Jūyō Tōken / ◎ Yūshū-saku - Hizen Yoshifusa
Marcin replied to Takezo's topic in Swords and Edged Weapons
No wonder that it has Juyo looking at this mirrored hamon. Someone asked once for similar blade with hamon shifted „vulgarly” - He was wondering why He couldn’t get above tokuHo. -
Who knows men? Remember hitlers’s diaries? Forger started preparing them 7 years before fishing started. Like 1975 or sth. Buying empty notebooks, writing MK by hand - He was building legend way before pushed fakes to the market. This dude did his homework. With big money he could basically re-establish entire factory. Now we have ai, so he can run scan to check for any differences based on pictures. In 20 more years it would be unrecognizable without doing metallography or patina analysis.

Drop more pictures. From first impression -waki is meiji for tourists? -katana chinese after war fake or late war „whatever cuts” with nakago cleaned by machine? There is leftover of mei at katana nakago? any snap button at saya? I don’t even see clearly how tsukamaki is done, so clear picture of tsuka. bad shiet to work around.

Big money swords in UK Auction……
Marcin replied to Matsunoki's topic in Auctions and Online Sales or Sellers
Bro, We are going offtopic but I think it's at top with drops being not a usual correction but sign of bubble burst. Same with spacex - forced nasdaq obligatory buyout will end with obvious drops starting from current month - imo sell now all connected with AI. -
