  10. Many many years ago I was offered a katana by muramasa which had been re- tempered or been in a house fire. I don't know if it was genuine or not as I couldn't afford his asking price but I was gutted as I really wanted it
  11. I reckon 3600 us dollars Personally I like the blade
  12. As Stephen said it as great hada and a very nice Hamon Pity about the other flaws as it is a very nice blade

  15. gentlemen, this thread is so unfair as the swords / tsubas are way beyond most of us humble collectors but nice to look at... jean..... your Tametsugu is spectacular if i may say so.......such a beautiful piece of workmanship but deadly in its design
  16. I have always found the kashima sisters to be totally honest and they always help new comers like me out whenever I have asked them questions , even thoughs that are not connected to any of their sales but a private purchase and I wanted their opinion. Personally I would buy the sword if I had offered a price to buy.
  17. Interesting but is the sword functional or just for show?
  18. .....you deserve all the credit you get as you are a very skilful craftsman
  19. As said above..... Until you decide what to do with it I would get a clean cotton cloth and with a few drops of oil on it and run it along the blade ( sharp edge away lol) It really does need oil
  20. Many thanks gentlemen. Looking at the wrapping and it as old iron fuchi and pommel which is tied in with cotton I reckon its a low grade stubs and original menuki as everything is tied up tigether
  21. these were on a newly aquired sword and i presume edo period. the tsuba is iron and no casting lines cannot tell if menuki are lions or dragons but presume the former any info much appreciated as always sorry for poor clarity tsuba height.....74mm width......68mm thick.......4mm
  22. Very nice indeed George Have you a sword in mind for it to be re-homed or just going to use it as a display piece? I will post a pic of the tsuba I got with the gendaito akinori blade as soon as I can as I find the history behind the pieces interesting
